Tesla reported 486,532 global vehicle deliveries in the third quarter of 2026, alongside 464,391 vehicles produced. Separately, registrations rose year over year in several European countries in September, but Tesla has not published a Europe-only Q3 delivery total. Registrations indicate vehicles newly registered in a market; they are not the same measure as Tesla’s global deliveries.

How many vehicles did Tesla deliver in Q3 2026?

Tesla’s October 2, 2026 release, filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, reports 486,532 deliveries worldwide in July–September and production of 464,391 vehicles. The company said it delivered 478,237 Model 3/Y vehicles and grouped 8,295 deliveries under “Other Models.” It reported production of 457,387 Model 3/Y vehicles and 7,004 “Other Models.” The company’s label does not establish which specific vehicles are included in that category. Did Tesla sales rebound in Europe?

Available registration figures point to a year-over-year rebound in several European markets, but they do not provide a full-quarter European delivery count. Reuters reported that Tesla registrations in September 2026 increased from a year earlier in France, Sweden, Spain, Norway and Denmark. The reported rates varied considerably:

Market Change in Tesla registrations, September 2026 year over year
France +61.9%
Sweden +38.4%
Spain +24.8%
Norway +2.2%
Denmark +2.9%

The rates are based on country-level registration data attributed by Reuters to the respective national or market sources. They cover September and those five countries, not all of Europe. At the time Reuters reported them, Germany and Britain’s September figures were still due later that week. Reuters’ report on September registrations.

A broader January–August comparison

Reuters also reported, citing ACEA figures, that Tesla registrations across the EU, UK and EFTA rose 43.3% from January through August 2026, compared with 38.8% growth for the broader battery-electric vehicle market. This is a registration comparison for an eight-month period and a wider geography than the EU alone; it is not a Tesla Q3 delivery breakdown. Reuters’ report.

What was happening in the wider EU car market?

ACEA reported that new-car registrations in the EU increased 5.3% year to date through August 2026. Battery-electric cars accounted for 21.7% of new EU registrations over that period, up from 15.8% in the same year-earlier period. These figures describe the overall EU market, not Tesla specifically. ACEA’s August 2026 EU registration release.

What may have supported the European rebound?

Reuters identified easier year-earlier comparisons, higher fuel prices, government incentives and growing consumer interest in electric vehicles as possible contributors to the registration increases. These are reported explanations, not proof that any one factor caused Tesla’s growth. The variation among the five countries also shows why a few national figures should not be treated as a uniform European trend.

What the delivery figure does—and does not—show

Tesla’s release gives a global quarterly total, not a regional allocation. The European registration data offer a separate view of activity in specific markets; they cannot establish what share of Tesla’s 486,532 Q3 deliveries went to Europe. Nor does the delivery count alone reveal revenue, earnings, margins or cash flow.

Tesla said it planned to publish Q3 financial results after market close on October 21, 2026. In its filing, the company cautioned that deliveries and energy-storage deployments are only two measures of performance and should not be relied on as an indicator of quarterly financial results, which also depend on factors such as average selling price, cost of sales and foreign-exchange movements.
