Tesla Canada reduced the listed price of the Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive by CAD 20,000 on July 10, 2025, from CAD 84,990 to CAD 64,990. That was a reported historical price change, not a current offer; Tesla’s present trim names and prices differ.
How much did Tesla cut the Model Y price in Canada?
The July 2025 reduction applied to the Model Y Long Range AWD listing. Tesla Canada’s configurator showed the price falling from CAD 84,990 to CAD 64,990, according to Drive Tesla’s report of July 10, 2025. The new figure was CAD 5,000 below the reported pre-tariff price of CAD 69,990.
The Car Guide calculated the reduction as 23.5% of the former CAD 84,990 listing; that percentage is the publication’s calculation, rather than a separately stated Tesla statistic. The same report noted optional Diamond Black paint at CAD 2,000. These are figures tied to the July 2025 report, not today’s inventory or a current quote.
Why did the price change?
Contemporaneous coverage said tariffs had pushed the listed price higher in spring 2025, before the July cut brought it below the reported pre-tariff level. The reduction was not reported across Tesla’s other vehicle lines. electrive’s July 11, 2025 coverage also noted a longer-than-usual estimated delivery window for the Model Y.

Drive Tesla and electrive suggested that the price and delivery clues could indicate Canadian Model Ys were being sourced from Giga Berlin rather than U.S. factories. That was an inference in the coverage, not a confirmed Tesla statement about a production switch.
What does a Model Y cost in Canada now?
Tesla Canada’s incentives page currently lists Model Y RWD MSRP at CAD 49,990 and Model Y Premium AWD MSRP at CAD 64,990. Those trim labels and figures do not establish a like-for-like current price for the Long Range AWD configuration in the 2025 report. Check Tesla’s Model Y product page and live configurator for the current configuration, location, price, and delivery estimate.

Tesla distinguishes MSRP from the all-in amount shown online: the online price may include delivery-related and other fees that are excluded from the MSRP table. For a useful comparison, match the trim and drivetrain, province, included options, fees, incentives, and delivery timing.

Tesla’s incentives page says eligible individual purchases, leases, or financing may receive up to CAD 5,000 through the EV Affordability Program (EVAP) when the total transaction price is below CAD 50,000 before specified fees. Tesla also lists up to CAD 2,000 in Quebec provincial assistance for eligible vehicles with a base MSRP under CAD 65,000. Quebec’s incentive may combine with EVAP only when the vehicle’s base MSRP is below CAD 50,000. Eligibility, available funds, and program terms can change; confirm them with Tesla and the relevant program at the time of purchase.

Do not assume that the historical Long Range AWD trim—or any current Model Y configuration—qualifies based only on the headline price. Review the exact vehicle’s base MSRP, transaction price, province, and applicable program rules on Tesla Canada’s incentives page.
