The headline’s $6,199 price and sub-200-lb weight describe Terra Bikes’ 2025 launch-era Terra Prime claims—not a confirmed current deal or a settled specification. As of October 7, 2026, Terra’s product page lists $6,499 but also says “Sold out”; its later specifications put the motorcycle just over 200 lb and claim up to 70 miles of range. Those figures come from the company, not an independent test.
What the Terra Prime is—and what the headline means
The Terra Prime is an electric scrambler-style motorcycle from Terra Bikes, a company New Atlas described as based in Western Colorado. New Atlas’s March 1, 2025, headline reflected a $6,199 Indiegogo pre-order offer and launch-era company claims of under 200 lb and more than 70 miles of range. The figures have since shifted or been qualified in Terra’s own materials.
That distinction matters: the headline is not evidence that a buyer can get a Prime today for $6,199, or that a production motorcycle weighs under 200 lb and will travel more than 70 miles in ordinary use.
How much does the Terra Prime cost?
New Atlas reported a US$6,199 pre-order price in March 2025, and the Indiegogo campaign page showed a $6,199 early-bird reward with June 2025 timing. Those were campaign-era terms, not a current price. Terra’s product page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists US$6,499 and displays “Sold out.” (New Atlas; Indiegogo campaign; Terra product page)

The current ordering information is mixed: the product page says “Sold out,” while also showing ordering fields and approximate lead-time language. Terra’s technical page says 2025 models sold out and that 2026 models were to ship in early April 2026. Since that stated date has passed, neither the listed price nor the delivery text establishes that a bike is available now. Terra says sales must go through licensed dealers and that shipping is unavailable in Colorado. Check stock and a delivered, dealer-specific quote before treating any price or delivery estimate as actionable.
How much does the Terra Prime weigh?
The under-200-lb figure belongs to New Atlas’s 2025 launch coverage. Terra’s later technical page describes the Prime as “just over 200lbs,” while its homepage gives a 215-lb figure. The available materials therefore do not support treating sub-200 lb as the consistent current specification. (New Atlas; Terra technical page)
The sources do not explain the difference between “just over 200lbs” and 215 lb or specify whether the quoted weights refer to the same configuration. Ask the dealer to confirm the weight for the exact motorcycle and battery package being offered.

How far can the Terra Prime go on one charge?
Terra’s current technical page claims up to 70 miles for a motorcycle package with a 60-Ah, 5.1-kWh battery. The 2025 launch coverage instead reported a 70-plus-mile company claim associated with a 65-Ah battery, while also noting about 40 miles off-road. Its later page says off-road riding can yield around 45 miles. These are company figures across different battery descriptions and conditions—not comparable independent range tests. (Terra technical page; New Atlas)
Expect actual distance to depend on riding conditions; the sources do not provide a standardized test with rider weight, speed, terrain, and temperature. For a realistic buying estimate, ask Terra or the dealer which battery is included and what range they expect for your route and use.
Which Prime configuration and top speed are being quoted?
Terra’s technical page distinguishes two packages. The motorcycle configuration is listed with a top speed of 70 mph; the separate low-speed scooter configuration is listed at 25 mph. New Atlas’s 2025 article gave a 55-mph claimed top speed, so that launch figure should not be substituted for the later configuration-specific figures. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently verified speeds. (Terra technical page; New Atlas)

Confirm which package is offered, including its battery, speed configuration, and included equipment. A “Prime” description alone does not establish that a listing is for the motorcycle version rather than the low-speed scooter package.
How long does it take to charge?
Charging times in Terra’s materials vary with charger and battery configuration. The company’s technical page says a full recharge takes three hours with the 60-Ah pack. Its FAQ gives about six hours with a 10-A charger and four hours with a 15-A charger. New Atlas reported a six-hour full charge alongside the launch-era battery options. These figures should not be treated as interchangeable without confirming the charger and pack. (Terra technical page; Terra FAQ; New Atlas)
Is the Terra Prime an e-bike, and can it be ridden on bike trails?
Terra describes the Prime as a motorcycle and offers a separate low-speed scooter package. Its FAQ states: “A Terra Prime is NOT a pedal bike (mountain bike), so you cannot ride it on bike trails.” Do not infer bicycle-trail access from casual “e-bike” wording. The company’s general street-legal language is not a guarantee of registration or road use in every jurisdiction; check the classification, equipment, licensing, registration, and operating rules where you live. What equipment and ownership terms does Terra list?
New Atlas’s launch report listed a chromoly frame, aluminum battery enclosure, direct chain drive, dual-sport tires, multiple ride modes, a 7-inch display, and DNM suspension. Terra’s technical page describes chromoly construction, long-travel suspension, and DOT-compliant components. These descriptions identify advertised equipment; they do not establish independent durability or safety performance, nor do they by themselves settle local road legality. (New Atlas; Terra technical page)
Terra’s product page states a lifetime frame warranty and a limited one-year warranty on electrical components, suspension, and wheels. Its FAQ advises indoor charging at room temperature, storing the battery at 50–75% charge, and switching off the master switch for extended storage. These are manufacturer warranty and care statements; get the applicable terms in writing for the specific configuration and sale. (Terra product page; Terra FAQ)
What to verify before buying
Terra’s FAQ describes dealer pickup, standard drop-ship with partial assembly, and white-glove delivery.
