TENWAYS describes the Longtail Duo as a longtail electric cargo bike for family trips and everyday hauling. Its product page listed a price of €3,499 and showed the bike as sold out when accessed on October 8, 2026. The page listed availability only in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, France and Luxembourg. Price, stock and sales geography can change, and country prices may differ because of VAT, so check the listing for your location.

TENWAYS lists the frame in one size for riders approximately 160–195 cm tall, with an adjustable stem and telescopic seatpost. That is the manufacturer’s stated fit range, not a guarantee that the bike will feel comfortable or manageable for every rider—especially with children aboard. Arrange a fit assessment or test ride if possible.
How much can it carry?
There are two separate limits to plan around. TENWAYS rates the rear carrier for up to 50 kg. The current product page and help-center load information set the maximum permitted weight for the whole bike at 220 kg, including the bike itself, rider, passengers, cargo and accessories. Do not add the rack rating to the whole-bike limit: both limits apply to the same loaded setup.

TENWAYS lists the bike at 32 kg without accessories and 41 kg with accessories; both figures include the battery. The product page notes a 3–5% tolerance for stated weights, and says specifications may change. The difference between those bike weights matters when calculating how much of the 220 kg allowance remains for the rider, children, bags and other equipment.
A 2025 launch article gave a 210 kg maximum allowable weight, while the current product page and help-center load table give 220 kg. For present-day planning, use the current listing for the exact bike and configuration rather than combining the figures.
Carrying children
TENWAYS says the long rear carrier is designed to accommodate two children, but that description does not override the 50 kg carrier limit or the 220 kg whole-bike limit. The product page lists family accessories including guard rails, seat cushions, spoke protectors and stepping boards. Check the live order page to confirm which items are included in the package you are buying.
The carrier uses a MIK system, and TENWAYS lists a MIK HD child seat as an optional accessory. That does not establish compatibility with every MIK accessory or generic child seat. Before carrying a child, confirm the exact carrier-and-seat combination, the seat’s child size and weight restrictions, the intended passenger arrangement and applicable local rules.

TENWAYS lists an EVA storage bag and an extra-long rear carrier for cargo. The carrier’s 50 kg rating remains the limit for loads placed on that rack, while the whole-bike limit also counts the rider, passengers, accessories and anything carried elsewhere. The listing does not establish a specific grocery volume or a safe load beyond those ratings.
Battery, range and motor: what the specifications tell you
The product page lists a removable 720 Wh (36 V, 20 Ah) lithium-ion battery with LG cells and a claimed range of up to 100 km. TENWAYS says actual range varies with factors including temperature, terrain, road conditions, rider and cargo weight, and riding conditions. A heavily loaded school run, hills, cold weather or frequent stops may produce a different result from the maximum claim; plan around your route and charging options rather than treating 100 km as guaranteed.
TENWAYS specifies a 250 W Bafang M410 mid-drive motor with up to 80 Nm of torque and a torque sensor. Assistance is listed up to 25 km/h, stopping at that speed; local rules apply. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent findings about acceleration, climbing ability or loaded performance. No independent comparative or hands-on test was established for this guide.

The listed drivetrain pairs an Enviolo heavy-duty hub with a Gates CDX carbon belt. TENWAYS also lists 24-inch wheels, a suspension fork, Tektro four-piston hydraulic disc brakes and a TFT color display. The equipment list describes components; it does not establish real-world stopping distances, ride comfort or handling with a particular load.

Other listed equipment includes a heavy-duty dual kickstand, a 100-lux front light, an integrated rear light and an ABUS frame lock. The dual kickstand is a practical feature to assess in person when parking a loaded bike, but the product listing alone does not verify stability in every situation. TENWAYS states that specifications can change without notice.
Accessories and Smart Connect
What comes with the bike
TENWAYS lists an EVA storage bag and family accessories—guard rails, seat cushions, spoke protectors and stepping boards—as included, and describes the package as including €335-worth of accessories. The bundle and its stated value can change; check the current listing for the exact contents. A child seat and an ABUS IVEN 140 cm chain lock are separately listed as optional recommendations, while the bike itself has an ABUS frame lock. Confirm compatibility and local requirements before purchasing add-ons.
Connected-bike service
TENWAYS lists GPS tracking, motion detection and notice-zone functions through its app, along with contactless unlocking, and includes one year of Smart Connect service. A TENWAYS launch article dated March 25, 2025 stated that service would then cost €99 per year after the included period. That is historical pricing, not a confirmed current renewal price; check the current terms before valuing the feature or budgeting for continued service.
Is it a fit for your family?
The Longtail Duo may suit a household that wants one e-bike for school trips and errands, can work within the stated load limits, and can get a comfortable fit on its one-size frame. A purchase decision should account for the full loaded setup—not just motor torque or the advertised range.
- Check the load math: include the bike’s own weight, rider, passengers, cargo and accessories in the 220 kg maximum, and keep rear-carrier loads within 50 kg.
- Check passenger setup: verify the exact MIK HD seat and carrier combination, child restrictions, accessory bundle and local rules.
- Check fit and parking: test the one-size frame and consider how you will mount, dismount and park the bike when loaded.
- Check your real route: consider hills, weather, stops, cargo and charging access rather than relying on the up-to-100-km claim.
- Check ownership support: TENWAYS says it has more than 200 offline service centers across Europe, but that does not establish coverage near your home. Confirm local service and replacement-part availability.
- Check the total cost: compare the country-specific bike price, optional accessories and any Smart Connect charge after the included year.
TENWAYS lists a 250 W motor and a 25 km/h assistance limit, but a buyer should confirm the rules applicable where the bike will be used. The manufacturer’s FAQ describes the model as intended for urban pavement or slightly potholed roads; it is not evidence for broader off-road or durability claims.
