TELO’s first pre-production MT1, revealed on March 6, 2025, was a development milestone—not a finished, certified truck. The company has since named Schwab Industries to make the body-in-white and continues to target initial customer production before the end of 2026. The compact pickup’s unusual selling point is its claimed five-seat layout and expandable bed in a 152-inch vehicle; certification and customer deliveries are not established in the available reports.
What the MT1 prototype represents
TELO describes the MT1 as an all-electric mini pickup intended to combine a small exterior footprint with crew-cab seating and useful pickup-bed capacity. Its March 2025 vehicle was the company’s first pre-production example. TELO said it would continue safety and durability testing before homologation, the process of demonstrating that a vehicle meets applicable requirements for sale. TELO’s announcement named Aria Group as the prototype manufacturing partner. Interior design was led by co-founder and chief creative officer Yves Béhar with fuseproject.

A prototype or pre-production vehicle can demonstrate design intent, but it does not establish that the final production configuration is complete, that required testing is finished, or that the vehicle is certified for sale. The later manufacturing announcements are progress in the production path, not proof that those steps are complete.
How a 152-inch truck is meant to carry people and cargo
TELO’s current product page lists the MT1 at 152 inches long, 73 inches wide and 67 inches tall. It describes seating for two to five and a 60-inch bed that can extend to 96 inches by opening the midgate between the bed and cabin. TELO says that configuration is designed to carry items such as 4-by-8-foot plywood sheets. These are manufacturer-published dimensions and capabilities, not independent measurements. #1 Best Overall
- An authentic replica built from high-quality plastic parts with the highest level of detail and accuracy.
- Tilting hood reveals the highly detailed 6-cylinder turbocharged CAT diesel engine. Realistic bedding on the bed in the sleeper.
- Plenty of chrome including fuel tanks, stacks, mirrors with antennas, grille and bumper, and steps with crosshatch detail. Simulated high mileage radial tires and alloy Reynolds wheels
- Molded in white and clear.
- Model kit comes unassembled. Kit will need to be built, glued, and painted. Paint and glue sold separately.
The packaging idea is the central proposition: a short truck designed to offer a crew cab and a bed that can lengthen when needed. The trade-off is that the listed eight-foot bed configuration uses the midgate, so buyers will need to assess how the intended cargo setup affects the cabin and passenger use once final production details are available.
TELO’s advertised range, capacity and charging figures
TELO currently lists a 106 kWh battery, a 260-mile standard-range estimate and a 350-mile long-range estimate. It also lists a 2,000-pound payload, 6,600-pound towing capacity and a 20-minute 20–80% charging time. These are company estimates and specifications; the available sources do not establish independent testing on a production vehicle. TELO MT1 specifications
Charging compatibility is another part of the design story. Electrek reported in 2026 that TELO CTO Forrest North described a split-pack approach intended to support charging across both 400-volt and 800-volt infrastructure. North said, “Vehicles that just go for pure 800 volts end up being compromised at 400-volt chargers. And because there are more 400-volt chargers out there than there are 800-volt chargers, that’s too big of a limitation for our customers.” Electrek also reported TELO’s claim of up to 400 kW sustained charging. Neither the quoted explanation nor the reported peak claim is an independent charging-curve result, and production performance remains to be confirmed. Electrek’s charging update

Body-in-white refers to the assembled vehicle body before paint and final assembly. Selecting a supplier for that structure is a concrete production-planning step, but it is not the same as building completed customer vehicles.

In 2025, TELO reported more than 12,000 pre-orders and over $600 million in stated customer commitments. Those are company-reported figures, not audited sales or delivered vehicles. TELO’s Series A announcement
TechCrunch reported that CEO Jason Marks described the design goal as “performance per square foot.” The same report put the initial contract-manufacturing plan at approximately 5,000 vehicles per year, attributed to Marks. That is a stated plan, not achieved annual output. TechCrunch report
What remains unconfirmed
The sources available do not establish completed U.S. homologation or federal certification, public crash-test results, or customer deliveries. They also do not establish independent production-vehicle validation of TELO’s range, payload, towing or charging figures. Until those milestones are documented, the specifications and dates should be read as manufacturer claims and plans rather than verified outcomes.
For prospective buyers, the meaningful next evidence will be a final production configuration, confirmed certification and safety results, independently verifiable performance, and actual customer deliveries. A stated target before the end of 2026 is not a guaranteed delivery date.
