Those details make it a specific tribute to F1 champions. Whether the result feels fitting or too literal is a matter of taste; the available evidence does not establish an independent reviewer or collector consensus.
What makes this Carrera an F1 anniversary edition?
TAG Heuer describes the edition as a tribute to the 75 drivers who have earned the Formula 1 World Champion title. Each of the 75 watches has an individual number in YEAR/75 format and a selected championship-year engraving on its sapphire caseback, alongside the F1 75 logo. The dial carries an F1 logo, and the tachymeter bezel includes a “75” marking. These are concrete links to championship history rather than a commemorative name alone. TAG Heuer’s UK product page and its official magazine article identify the edition and its commemorative details.

How does it connect to the Carrera’s racing identity?
The anniversary treatment sits on a collection with a long-running racing identity, according to TAG Heuer’s own account. The brand says Jack Heuer introduced the Carrera in 1963 as a legible, reliable chronograph for drivers. It also points to later racing associations, including Ferrari in the 1970s, the Le Mans Centigraph, and ambassadors Ayrton Senna and Max Verstappen. The new model’s chronograph, tachymeter and openworked dial continue that motorsport-facing aesthetic, while the tourbillon makes it a highly technical luxury watch rather than a straightforward driver’s instrument.
What are the watch’s specifications?
For reference CBU5051.FT6272, the UK product page lists the following specifications. TAG Heuer’s magazine article describes the bezel gold as 18K 5N; the detailed UK product specification instead identifies it as solid 18K 3N yellow gold, so the table follows that product-page listing.

Is it a fitting tribute to 75 years of F1?
On specificity, the concept is persuasive: the 75-piece limit, championship-year engravings and individual numbering connect each example to the title’s history, while visible F1 details make the anniversary legible on the watch itself. Its Carrera context adds a second rationale, since TAG Heuer presents the collection as rooted in driver-focused chronographs.
The design is also emphatic. Gold, titanium, an openworked dial, chronograph hardware and a tourbillon combine into a conspicuously high-end motorsport look. That may suit a celebratory limited edition, but the same directness may feel over-explicit to someone who prefers subtler commemorative design. No independent review or collector response established a broader verdict, so the strongest grounded conclusion is that the tribute is specific and coherent with TAG Heuer’s own Carrera narrative; its aesthetic success remains personal.
