Suzuki lists a conditional ¥568,000 CEV subsidy for qualifying registrations in a specified 2026 window, but it is not automatic. The official materials give prices in yen, not U.S. dollars, so they do not establish a sub-$10,000 price.
What does Suzuki’s e SKY cost?
Suzuki lists three e SKY grades for Japan. Prices include Japan’s 10% consumption tax:

Suzuki’s listed prices exclude insurance, taxes other than consumption tax, registration-related expenses and accessories. The manufacturer’s e SKY price and estimate page also lists a ¥568,000 CEV subsidy for registrations dated October 6 through December 31, 2026. Subtracting that amount from the A grade’s list price gives ¥1,552,000, but this is only arithmetic—not a guaranteed purchase price. Eligibility and application conditions apply, and the subsidy may end when its budget is exhausted.
Is the e SKY really under $10,000?
Not on the evidence in Suzuki’s official pricing information. Suzuki publishes the car’s price and subsidy in Japanese yen; it does not give a dollar price or establish a U.S. selling price. A dollar conversion would depend on the exchange rate on the date of conversion, while a subsidy-adjusted figure would additionally depend on buyer eligibility. The listed Japanese subsidy should not be treated as available to buyers outside its program.

What kind of EV is the e SKY?
The e SKY is Suzuki’s first mini passenger EV for Japan, with sales scheduled to begin November 16, 2026, according to the company’s October 6 announcement and global announcement. It is a kei-class passenger car, not a commercial van.
Suzuki publishes a 26 kWh battery, a 310 km range per charge under the WLTC test cycle, and WLTC electricity consumption of 97 Wh/km. The company describes the consumption figure as class-leading among kei EVs. It also lists a 4.4 m minimum turning radius. These are manufacturer figures under a standardized test cycle, not promises of the distance or efficiency every driver will achieve in everyday conditions.

How is it different from Suzuki’s e EVERY?
The e EVERY is a separate mini-commercial electric van, not another name or body style for the e SKY passenger car. Suzuki says the e EVERY was co-developed with Daihatsu and Toyota. Its manufacturer-published specifications include a 36.6 kWh battery and a 257 km WLTC range; Suzuki’s March 9, 2026 announcement lists prices of ¥3,146,000 for the two-seat version and ¥3,234,000 for the four-seat version.
