The Suzuki GSX-8S Kevin Schwantz Edition is a five-bike Italian tribute to the rider’s 1993 500cc world championship. Suzuki Italy says each motorcycle is individually numbered, signed by Schwantz and supplied with a uniqueness certificate. When checked on October 8, 2026, Suzuki Italy’s listing showed the edition as sold out.
What makes this GSX-8S a Kevin Schwantz edition?
Suzuki Italy says the special edition marks 30 years since Kevin Schwantz won the 500cc-class world championship. Its colors are inspired by the 1993 Suzuki RGV500, the racing motorcycle associated with that title. The result is a commemorative livery on the GSX-8S rather than a different engine or a separately specified performance package.
The edition is limited to five motorcycles. Suzuki says each one is numbered and signed by Schwantz, and comes with a certificate of uniqueness. Those details—not simply the race-inspired colors—make this an unusually scarce factory edition.
Suzuki Italy’s official GSX-8S Kevin Schwantz page listed a price of €11,490 including VAT. Its page showed “SOLD OUT” when checked on October 8, 2026; that is the status displayed on that listing at that time, not a guarantee about later availability or the secondhand market.

What are the Italian edition’s specifications?
Suzuki Italy’s technical table lists these figures for the Kevin Schwantz Edition. They are the specifications as stated on the Italian-market page; CV is metric horsepower.
| Specification | Suzuki Italy listing |
|---|---|
| Engine | Liquid-cooled, four-stroke DOHC parallel twin |
| Displacement | 776 cc |
| Maximum power | 83 CV (61 kW) |
| Maximum torque | 78 Nm at 6,800 rpm |

The 202 kg figure is the Italian page’s running-weight specification. Do not treat the Italian listing’s price or specifications as a US-market quote or as confirmation that the edition was sold in other countries.

How it differs from Germany’s 2026 GSX-8S Special Edition
Suzuki Germany also lists a limited GSX-8S, but it commemorates a different milestone and is not the Kevin Schwantz Edition. The German model celebrates 50 years of Suzuki Germany, has its own 50-unit production limit and uses a design inspired by 1980s racing. Confusing the two editions can lead to the wrong production count or equipment details.
| Kevin Schwantz Edition | German 50th-anniversary Special Edition | |
|---|---|---|
| Market and commemoration | Italy; 30 years since Schwantz’s 500cc-class world championship | Germany; 50 years of Suzuki Germany |
| Production limit | 5 motorcycles | 50 motorcycles |
| Design | Colors inspired by the 1993 RGV500 | 1980s racing-inspired design |
| Distinctive details | Each motorcycle individually numbered and signed by Schwantz; uniqueness certificate | Matching anniversary passenger-seat cover and belly pan |
| Restricted-power version | Not stated on Suzuki Italy’s page | 35 kW version available |
| Listed price | €11,490 including VAT, on Suzuki Italy’s page | €9,890 excluding delivery; €10,479 including delivery, on Suzuki Germany’s page |
The German price is for the German edition and market; the Italian price is for the five-bike Schwantz edition. They are regional list prices with different delivery treatment, so they are not a like-for-like price comparison. Suzuki Germany’s 2026 GSX-8S Special Edition page gives its equipment and pricing, while its press listing dated September 4, 2026 confirms the 50-unit limit for the GSX-8S and GSX-S1000 anniversary editions.

What does a standard US GSX-8S price tell you?
Nothing about the collectible’s Italian price or availability. For context only, Suzuki USA’s 2026 standard GSX-8S page lists a $9,249 base MSRP plus a $700 destination charge. That is a US-market price for the standard model, not the Schwantz Edition.
The US page describes the standard bike’s 776cc, 270-degree parallel twin, Cross Balancer, bidirectional quick shifter, selectable ride modes and traction control, ABS, and 202 kg (445 lb) curb weight. Those specifications describe the 2026 US-market standard motorcycle; they should not be substituted for the Italian edition’s stated specifications or used to infer that the signed five-bike run was offered in the United States.
