Stellantis’ U.S. recall campaign 25V-741 covers 320,065 specified Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrids. NHTSA says battery-cell separator damage could cause the high-voltage battery to fail internally and start a fire, whether the vehicle is parked or being driven. If your vehicle is unrepaired, NHTSA says to park it outdoors away from buildings and other vehicles and not to charge it until the recall repair is completed.
Which Jeep 4xe vehicles are included?
NHTSA announced campaign 25V-741 on November 4, 2025. Its U.S. scope is 320,065 vehicles across these model-year ranges:

The figures are the campaign counts reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in 2025. They describe the U.S. campaign, not a global vehicle total. The model-year ranges do not mean every vehicle in those years is included; eligibility is determined for an individual vehicle.
What is the battery defect and fire risk?
NHTSA identifies the affected component as the electrical propulsion system’s traction battery. Cells in the battery pack may have separator damage, which can lead to an internal battery failure and a fire. NHTSA says a fire could occur while the vehicle is parked or being driven, and that risk is higher when the battery is charged than when it is depleted. The alert reported one potentially related injury; it did not provide a confirmed fire count for this campaign.

What should owners do now?
- Check the vehicle’s recall status. Use NHTSA’s recall lookup with the vehicle identification number (VIN) or license plate, then follow the current instructions shown for that vehicle.
- If the vehicle is unrepaired, park outdoors. NHTSA instructs owners to park outside and away from structures and other vehicles until the vehicle has been remedied.
- Do not charge it until repaired. NHTSA says not to charge an unrepaired vehicle because fire risk is higher with a charged battery.
- Arrange the recall repair through the manufacturer’s authorized service process. Do not attempt to diagnose or repair the high-voltage battery yourself; follow the latest vehicle-specific directions from NHTSA and the manufacturer.
Is the recall repair available?
NHTSA’s November 3, 2025 recall acknowledgement said the remedy was under development at that time. That filing does not establish whether the remedy is available now. Check the live NHTSA record or Mopar’s recall lookup for the specific vehicle and follow the current campaign instructions; do not rely on the 2025 status as a statement of present availability.
Does an earlier Jeep 4xe battery repair clear this recall?
No. NHTSA’s 2025 alert tells owners who previously had a remedy performed for a similar battery issue to check whether their vehicle is included in the expanded campaign and follow its instructions. A prior repair should not be treated as proof that a vehicle is outside campaign 25V-741. Check the VIN or plate against the current recall record.

How is this different from the 2024 Jeep 4xe recall?
NHTSA issued a separate consumer alert on September 30, 2024, for an earlier, narrower Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid fire-risk recall affecting more than 154,000 vehicles in earlier model-year ranges. The 2025 campaign lists a larger population and broader model-year coverage. These are distinct notices; the figures should not be added because the sources do not establish how much the vehicle populations overlap.
