Stadium Karts was a limited-season go-karting pop-up at Stadium Park beside Perth’s Optus Stadium, not a permanent attraction. A June 2026 auction listing reports that it operated for 54 days from December 2022 and that its karts had been in storage since the business closed. Whether it has relaunched since then is unconfirmed, so old promotions should not be treated as evidence that tickets are available now.
Is Stadium Karts at Optus Stadium still open?
Current operating and booking status is unconfirmed. The Government of Western Australia described the attraction as returning for a limited season in January 2023, but that was a launch-period announcement, not a current listing. A June 2026 tender notice from Ross’s Auctioneers & Valuers says the pop-up ran for 54 days from December 2022 and that its equipment had been stored since closure. That supports saying the business had closed by the time of the notice, but does not establish whether it has reopened since. Government of Western Australia, 24 January 2023; Ross’s Auctioneers & Valuers, June 2026 listing.
Optus Stadium’s school-holiday promotion and older government pages may still appear online, including with booking language. They describe a dated offer; they do not confirm current ticket inventory. Contact the venue or operator directly before making plans.
What was the track like?
Launch-period government and VenuesWest descriptions placed the outdoor circuit in the east precinct of Stadium Park, near Perth Stadium train station. Its route passed through gardens and under overpasses. The announced layout was 740 metres long, with a 150-metre straight and four tunnels. The karts were identified as French-made SODIKARTS. Why do older pages call it Australia’s “most thrilling” experience?
“Most thrilling” is promotional language, not an independently measured ranking. The Government’s launch announcement quoted Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman calling it “Australia’s ultimate outdoor karting experience”; that is an attributed promotional opinion, not comparative evidence. The documented facts are the track’s layout, stated kart capability and historical participation rules.
