The 2020 Toyota Supra has a close, driver-oriented two-seat cockpit rather than an expansive cabin. Toyota’s US specifications list 38.3 inches of headroom, 42.2 inches of legroom and 54.4 inches of shoulder room; those figures describe the space, but can’t predict how comfortable it will feel to a particular driver.
Is the 2020 Supra interior cramped?
It is compact in feel, but “cramped” is subjective. The Supra has two seats, and Toyota lists 50.9 cubic feet of EPA passenger volume for the 2020 US model. Its published dimensions are:
- Headroom: 38.3 inches
- Legroom: 42.2 inches
- Shoulder room: 54.4 inches
- EPA passenger volume: 50.9 cubic feet
These are Toyota’s specifications, not independent measurements or a guarantee of fit. Seating comfort depends on the occupant’s proportions and preferences; the figures alone can’t settle whether the cabin will suit you. Toyota’s 2020 Supra product information provides the measurements.
What does the cockpit look and feel like?
Toyota describes the cabin as a driver-focused cockpit, with a low, narrow dashboard, grouped controls, a digital instrument display and an asymmetrical console that wraps toward the driver. Toyota Europe says the layout is intended to help the driver focus and see forward. That is Toyota’s design intent, not independent proof that every control is easier or safer to use.

The overall impression supported by the design is close and focused rather than open or airy. In Car and Driver’s comparison of the 2020 Supra and BMW Z4, the Supra’s cabin is described as “tight and close coupled,” while the Z4 feels “more expansive inside.” That is a reviewer’s subjective impression, not a measured comparison of cabin volume. Neither description establishes which car will feel more comfortable or better laid out to every driver. Car and Driver’s comparison discusses the two interiors.
What are the Supra’s seats like?
Toyota calls the seats racing-inspired and describes side bolsters and integrated head restraints. The bolstered design contributes to the cockpit’s wrapped-in character, but the available descriptions and dimensions do not establish universal comfort across different body types. A seat that feels supportive to one driver may feel restrictive to another.

Which interior features vary by grade?
For the US-market launch, Toyota described the 3.0 with Alcantara power seats and memory, while the 3.0 Premium had heated leather-trimmed seats. Toyota’s 2020 brochure lists an 8.8-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay compatibility and 12 JBL speakers for the 3.0 Premium; Qi-compatible wireless charging is described as available.
