It launched at 11:10 a.m. EDT on Oct. 1, 2026, and docked at 7:05 p.m. EDT.
How quickly did Crew-13 reach the space station?
NASA recorded 7 hours 55 minutes from launch to docking. Dragon attached to the Harmony module’s forward port at 7:05 p.m. EDT, after launching from Florida aboard a Falcon 9 at 11:10 a.m. EDT on Oct. 1, 2026. NASA calls it the fastest launch-to-docking by a U.S. spacecraft in ISS history. NASA’s docking report gives the precise arrival time and duration.
Who flew on Crew-13?
The crew consisted of NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins, commander, and Luke Delaney, pilot; Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk; and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov. NASA identifies Crew-13 as the 13th crew-rotation mission in SpaceX’s human space transportation system and Dragon’s 14th flight with NASA astronauts, counting the Demo-2 test flight. Why was the trip so short?
The station’s position and the timing of the launch created favorable orbital conditions for a short pursuit. That does not mean Dragon suddenly became faster, or that every Dragon trip will take about eight hours. Julianna Scheiman, SpaceX’s director of NASA science and Dragon programs, told Space.com, “We got lucky this time,” explaining that the station was in an opportune position and the orbital mechanics made the unusually short transit possible. The categories matter: Crew-13’s record is for a U.S. spacecraft, while the shorter overall transit benchmark cited by Space.com was set by a Russian Soyuz.

The historical comparison times are reported by Space.com. They distinguish U.S. spacecraft from all-country missions and crewed flights from other spacecraft flights; the Soyuz figure therefore does not contradict NASA’s narrower U.S. record.

What else is known about the flight?
The launch followed a three-week delay to repair a leaking Dragon fuel system, according to the Associated Press. The AP report provides that operational context. It does not change the elapsed-time record, which is measured from launch to docking.
