Slate says vehicle manufacturing will take place in Warsaw, Indiana. The company describes design work in California and Michigan and engineering in Michigan, so Warsaw is the announced production location—not the location of all Slate operations. What does the $24,950 starting price include?
Slate’s June 24, 2026 announcement lists the truck at $24,950. That is a company-announced starting price, not an all-in purchase price: taxes, title, license, registration, other government fees, destination, documentation, and optional equipment are excluded. Slate also announced its Squareback and Fastback SUV configurations at starting prices of $29,950. The final price a buyer pays will depend on applicable charges and selected options. What has Slate announced for Warsaw?
Slate says it plans to invest nearly $400 million in the Warsaw factory and create more than 2,000 jobs. The company also projects that its plans could contribute up to $39 billion to Indiana’s economy over 20 years. These are announced plans and a company projection, not proof that the investment, jobs, or projected economic contribution have already been realized. Slate expects first deliveries in Q4 2026; that is a forecast, not confirmation that deliveries have begun.

A separate expansion in Michigan
Michigan’s May 19, 2026 announcement concerns Slate’s Troy headquarters expansion, not the Warsaw factory. The state said the Troy project was expected to create at least 392 qualified jobs over five years, with $10.4 million in capital investment, and reported Slate had 325 Michigan employees at that time. What is known about the truck—and what remains provisional?
Slate’s FAQ describes a rear-wheel-drive truck with one rear-mounted 135 kW motor, a projected 205-mile range, a 1,550-pound payload, and a 2,000-pound towing capacity. The listed dimensions are 174.6 inches long, 70.6 inches wide, and 68 inches high. These are manufacturer-provided figures, not independent test results. Which body styles and conversions has Slate described?
Slate has announced a pickup and SUV configurations, including Squareback and Fastback profiles; its FAQ also names an Open Air SUV style. The company says a conversion kit can turn the pickup into an SUV after delivery. Published prices and specifications may change before production, and Slate has not established a final conversion cost in the cited materials. The practical choice depends on whether you need a pickup bed or enclosed SUV space, which body configuration suits your use, and what accessories or conversion work you choose.
How can owners charge it at home?
Slate says the vehicle will use a NACS charge port and have access to Tesla Superchargers. The company says its standard charging cable works with 120-volt household outlets and specified 240-volt outlets, with a J1772 adapter included. Slate describes a wall-mounted charger as an optional home setup and names Treehouse for installation and electrical upgrades. Slate’s charging guidance estimates that Level 1 charging adds roughly 2–5 miles of range per hour and Level 2 adds around 25–35 miles per hour. Those are manufacturer estimates, not independently measured results. If an existing 120-volt outlet or suitable 240-volt outlet meets your needs, the included cable may be sufficient; a wall-mounted charger can be considered if you need a different home-charging setup.

Slate lists heating and air conditioning, analog HVAC controls, a backup camera, airbags, traction and stability control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian identification, and automatic high beams among the standard equipment it describes.
