The newest specific car report is a custom electric classic Mini delivered in 2023. But Cowell said then that he generally sells his cars and does not have a collection, so older reports are not proof of what he owns today.
What cars has Simon Cowell been associated with?
The reports describe cars owned or driven at different times, not a verified, lasting inventory. The table separates the named vehicles from what the coverage actually establishes.
| Vehicle | Reported period and type | What the reporting establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Bugatti Veyron | Hypercar; reported in 2009, 2011 and 2012 | The Standard reported a £750,000 purchase-era price in 2009. GQ described Cowell’s black Bugatti as a $1.7 million sports car in 2011, and the Standard reported seeing him driving a Veyron in Los Angeles in 2012. These are historical reports, not a current valuation or ownership confirmation. The Standard, 2009; GQ, 2011; The Standard, 2012. |
| Rolls-Royce Phantom models | Luxury convertible and stretch saloon; reported in 2009 and 2011 | The Standard described a Phantom Drophead Coupe with cream leather and piano wood trim. The Guardian later referred to Cowell’s “famous Rolls-Royce Phantom stretch,” with extra stretch built in. The reports may describe different cars or configurations; they do not establish one single vehicle. The Standard, 2009; The Guardian, 2011. |
| Ferrari F430 Spider and another Ferrari | Sports cars; reported in 2009 and 2012 | The Standard’s historical garage coverage named an F430 Spider; its 2012 report referred more generally to a Ferrari in Cowell’s reported fleet. The Standard, 2009; The Standard, 2012. |
| Bentley Azure and Bentley convertible | Luxury convertible; reported in 2009 | The Independent specifically listed a Bentley Azure; the Standard mentioned a Bentley convertible. The reports do not establish that these references are to the same car. The Independent, 2009; The Standard, 2009. |
| Jaguar XKR and antique Jaguar | Sports car and classic; reported in 2009 | MoneyWeek listed an XKR; the Standard described an antique Jaguar. The coverage does not establish whether these references overlap or form part of a stable collection. MoneyWeek, 2009; The Standard, 2009. |
| Aston Martin DB9 and Mini Cooper | Sports car and small hatchback; listed in 2009 | MoneyWeek named both among Cowell’s cars; the report does not establish current ownership. MoneyWeek, 2009. |
| David Brown Automotive Mini eMastered | Electric classic; reported 4 October 2023 | The Standard reported Cowell as one of the first owners of the custom car. It described Lotus Esprit-inspired exterior styling and an interior inspired by his Rolls-Royce. The paper gave a 96 bhp motor, 92 mph limited top speed, 18.8 kWh battery and predicted range of around 110 miles; these are published figures, not independent test results. The Standard, 2023. |
The 2023 Mini is the clearest recent example
The David Brown Automotive Mini eMastered stands apart from the earlier reports because it is a specific, dated account of a custom electric car. According to the Standard’s 4 October 2023 report, Cowell’s car drew its exterior inspiration from the Lotus Esprit in A View to a Kill, while its interior took cues from his Rolls-Royce. The same report listed the motor, speed, battery capacity and predicted range shown above; the range was a prediction, not a verified real-world result.
Why “collection” can be misleading
In the Standard’s 2023 report, Cowell said: “I’ve never really kept cars, I don’t have a collection. I’ve had a lot of cars but I’ve always sold them. This one I will always, always keep.” That statement explains why a roll call of older cars should not be treated as a current garage inventory. The newest specific vehicle report available here is from 2023, and no verified 2026 inventory or total count is established.

What Cowell has said about his Rolls-Royce
The Standard’s 2012 report attributed this praise of his Rolls-Royce to a Top Gear interview: “It’s the most beautiful, most comfortable, best-engineered car ever built. I can hardly bring myself to say it but it’s – oh, sod it! – perfect.” It is Cowell’s reported opinion, not an independent assessment of the car’s engineering.

The historical figures attached to these cars belong to their original coverage, not to today’s market. The Standard reported £750,000 for the Veyron and £400,000 for the Phantom Drophead Coupe in 2009; GQ described the black Bugatti as a $1.7 million car in 2011. The reports do not supply a present-day value, and the amounts should not be used as current price estimates.
