Seiko’s new Prospex Speedtimer HBJ008 pairs a midnight-blue dial, orange accents and a brown rally-style strap with the brand’s solar-powered V192 chronograph. Seiko identifies it as a 2026 European limited edition of 4,000 pieces. Its automotive influence is a design cue, not a claim that this is a reissue of a historic racing watch.
What is the Seiko Speedtimer HBJ008?
HBJ008, also listed as HBJ008P1 on Seiko’s UK boutique, is a solar chronograph in the Prospex Speedtimer line. Seiko describes it as a European limited edition, with production capped at 4,000 pieces. The release is distinct from earlier European “Motoring” Speedtimers and from other Speedtimer variants.
The look draws on classic European sports cars: Seiko’s UK product description calls the dial midnight blue and says it echoes that automotive colour palette. Gear Patrol describes black subdials, orange details and an included brown rallye strap. Together, those contrasts give the watch a motorsport-inspired appearance without making it a literal vintage reissue.
How the V192 movement and chronograph work
The V192 is solar powered. Seiko rates its accuracy at ±15 seconds per month and says it runs for approximately six months on a full charge. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.

Case size, materials and water resistance
Seiko lists a 39.0 mm case diameter, 13.3 mm thickness and 45.5 mm lug-to-lug length. The case is stainless steel, with a curved sapphire crystal and an inner anti-reflective coating. LumiBrite is applied to the hands and indices, and the watch is rated to 10 bar of water resistance.
The lug width is 20 mm. Seiko UK lists an additional calfskin strap with the watch; that does not by itself establish how every aftermarket strap will fit or wear.

The HBJ008 combines a relatively compact 39 mm case with a blue-and-orange, rally-influenced design and a solar chronograph. It may suit someone who wants automotive styling and stopwatch functionality without choosing a mechanical movement. Before buying, consider the 13.3 mm thickness and 45.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement alongside your wrist and fit preferences; those figures are more informative than diameter alone.
