SealVans builds towable caravans that can also operate as boats. The Turkish maker’s documented range has two models: the compact Seal 4.20m, listed at under 750 kg with an engine below 10 hp, and the larger Seal 7.50m, specified with a 50 hp motor and a claimed top speed of 13 knots. Both are designed for camping on land and cruising on water, but their towing, licensing and launch requirements are very different.
What is a SealVans vehicle?
SealVans is a manufacturer based in Bursa, Turkey. The company says it completed two prototype types and its research and development work in July 2022, then moved into production and operation.

Its products occupy two categories at once: a towable camping caravan on land and a boat platform on water. You tow the unit to a launch point, put it in the water, and fit an external motor for cruising. It is therefore not a conventional caravan that merely floats, nor a boat with a tent-like cabin; the same enclosed vehicle is intended to provide both accommodation and water use.

SealVans states that its boats are CE certified. That is a manufacturer statement, so buyers should request the applicable declaration and confirm that registration, road rules and boating requirements are recognised where they live.

Seal 4.20m vs Seal 7.50m
The two documented models target different kinds of trips. The 4.20m is the lighter, simpler option for owners who prioritise road towing and compact storage. The 7.50m is a full-size boat-caravan aimed at people who want more interior space and substantially stronger water propulsion.

Choosing the 4.20m
The 4.20m’s principal advantage is logistical. A maker-stated mass below 750 kg can make tow-vehicle matching, storage and launch handling easier than with the larger model, although the permissible loaded mass, nose weight and the trailer’s actual plate data still need to be checked before purchase. Its sub-10-hp engine is also the basis for SealVans’ claim that no AMC is needed; that exemption is not automatically valid in every country or waterway.

Choosing the 7.50m
The 7.50m trades easier transport for space and performance. SealVans specifies a 50 hp motor and up to 13 knots, while describing the cabin as suitable for four people with separate sleeping areas, a dining and sitting zone, bathroom and kitchen. The larger hull, engine and O2-related classification information mean that towing capacity, trailer equipment, launch-ramp limits and registration deserve particular attention.

SealVans presents both models as usable living spaces rather than open runabouts. The 7.50m description lists two sleeping areas that can be divided at night and a shared dining/sitting area for four. It also lists a bathroom, kitchen, refrigerator/freezer, hob and oven, a broad countertop, panoramic windows, curtains and mosquito nets. The 4.20m page likewise describes two sleeping areas and accommodation for four, but its smaller dimensions mean the maker’s layout and payload figures should be checked for the exact production configuration.
The 4.20m technical sheet lists 230-volt sockets and a USB charging socket, along with marine-oriented electrical and structural options. Ask the dealer which items are standard, which are optional, and whether the quoted electrical system matches your shore-power, inverter and battery plans.
Licensing, certification and legal checks
Licensing is the area where a brochure specification can be misunderstood most easily.

- AMC: SealVans says the 4.20m’s engine below 10 hp does not require an Amateur Maritime Certificate, while the 7.50m’s 50 hp installation does. Treat this as a manufacturer claim and verify it with the maritime authority for the country and waterway where you will operate.
- Road category: The 4.20m is described as O1 and under 750 kg. The home page includes O2-category information for the 7.50m. Confirm the completed vehicle’s certificate, plated masses, braking equipment and towing-speed rules with the seller and your road authority.
- CE marking: The company says all its boats are CE certified. Request the conformity documentation and check whether any local registration or inspection remains necessary.
- Motor installation: Water performance and licence requirements depend on the installed external motor, loading, water conditions and local rules, not only on the model name.
What ownership involves on land and water
Towing and storage
Before ordering, match the model’s certified maximum mass—not just its headline dry figure—to your tow vehicle, hitch limit, axle limits and driving licence. The 4.20m’s under-750-kg description may simplify some combinations, but luggage, water, gas, batteries and the motor can alter the running mass. The 7.50m should be treated as a heavier trailer requiring a suitable tow vehicle and a storage space that can accommodate its length and turning radius.

Plan the complete launch sequence: road access to the slipway, trailer submersion limits, tie-down removal, motor fitting, boarding and retrieval. A ramp that handles a normal boat trailer may not suit a tall caravan body or the loaded weight of the 7.50m. Confirm manufacturer-approved lifting, recovery and drainage points rather than improvising with the cabin structure.

Water use
The external motor is essential to the boat function. SealVans’ 13-knot figure for the 7.50m is a stated capability, not a published independent trial result; actual speed will vary with load, propeller, trim and conditions. No comparable water-speed figure is stated for the 4.20m.
Accessories and electrical additions
A marine USB charging socket is the most obvious accessory lead from the 4.20m technical sheet, which already lists a USB outlet. When replacing or adding one, match the socket’s input voltage, fuse rating, cut-out dimensions, connector type and ingress protection to the vehicle’s wiring. Use a marine-rated component in splash-prone locations, protect the circuit with the correct fuse, and have changes inspected if they affect the boat’s electrical compliance.
Other practical questions for a dealer include motor mounting hardware, shore-power equipment, battery capacity, refrigerator and heating options, trailer spare-wheel provision, curtains and mosquito-net specifications, and the difference between standard and optional interior fittings. The published material does not provide a current price list, stock status or delivery timetable.
Who should buy which model?
- Choose the Seal 4.20m if compact towing, simpler storage and a lower-power boating setup matter more than speed or interior volume.
- Choose the Seal 7.50m if four-person comfort, a bathroom and kitchen, and stronger cruising performance justify heavier towing and an AMC requirement.
- Pause and verify both if your local authority has unusual rules for amphibious vehicles, trailers under or over 750 kg, engine-power exemptions or CE-marked boats.
Bottom line
SealVans is a genuine dual-purpose concept: a caravan for overnight use that can become a motorised boat when launched. The 4.20m is the transport-focused entry point, listed below 750 kg and below 10 hp; the 7.50m is the roomier, faster model, specified at 50 hp and up to 13 knots. Those figures and the licensing statements come from the manufacturer, so a purchase decision should include a written check of the exact vehicle’s certificates, loaded masses, motor installation and local road and maritime rules.
