Scout Motors revealed its first two vehicles—the Traveler SUV and Terra pickup—on October 24, 2024, so the launch is not still ahead. The company is now targeting initial production in 2027 and customer deliveries in 2028. Both models are planned as battery-electric vehicles or as Harvester range-extended EVs, but prices, range and specifications remain estimates rather than final production figures.
What Scout Motors has announced
Scout Motors is developing two vehicles inspired by International Harvester Scout models built from 1961 to 1980: the Traveler, an SUV, and the Terra, a pickup. The company unveiled production-intent concepts in October 2024; the designs and figures announced then should not be mistaken for final production specifications. Scout’s reveal announcement described both as rugged, body-on-frame vehicles with solid rear axles.
Scout says each model is planned with five- or six-seat configurations and two powertrain choices: battery-electric or Harvester, its gasoline-powered range-extended electric configuration. The company has not published every production detail, so options and specifications may change. Scout’s Help Center describes the planned configurations.
When will the Traveler and Terra arrive?
In a March 23, 2026 Help Center answer, Scout said, “Initial production is targeted to begin in 2027,” with customer deliveries expected in 2028. Those dates are company targets, not guaranteed delivery dates. Scout said the Traveler will enter production first and that it plans to start with the Harvester EREV configuration. The company’s schedule answer does not specify when Terra production will begin.

Scout also reported that, as of March 2026, nearly 75% of reservations were for the Traveler, while more than 85% were for the Harvester powertrain. These are dated reservation snapshots published by Scout, not independent measures of market demand; the percentages describe different attributes and should not be compared as if they were the same measure. Scout’s Help Center answers provide the figures.
Traveler SUV or Terra pickup?
The main practical distinction is body style: the Traveler is intended for SUV passenger and enclosed-cargo use, while the Terra adds an open pickup bed. The announced towing numbers also differ, but remain projections from the 2024 reveal rather than confirmed ratings.

Scout also projected nearly 1,000 lb-ft of torque at the reveal. Treat that as an early company figure, not a final production rating. The reveal announcement contains the concept-era performance claims.
Battery-electric versus Harvester range extender
Battery-electric
Scout currently projects up to 350 miles of range for battery-electric versions. That is a manufacturer estimate, not an EPA rating; Scout says EPA estimates will be available when established, and actual range will vary. The current Traveler page gives the projected range and cautions that specifications may change.

Harvester EREV
Harvester is a range-extended electric vehicle (EREV): an onboard gasoline engine operates as a generator to recharge the high-voltage battery. Scout estimates 500 miles or more of total range for this configuration. It is still a company projection, not an EPA rating or a guarantee of real-world distance. Unlike the battery-electric version, it will require gasoline as well as electricity. Scout’s current range estimate and 2024 reveal announcement describe the system and projected range.
What might they cost?
At the October 2024 reveal, Scout gave U.S. target starting prices of $50,000 for the Traveler and $51,500 for the Terra, with available incentives. These were targets, not final MSRPs or configured prices. The current Traveler page instead says entry pricing is expected to be under $60,000 and that actual pricing and availability will be confirmed closer to production. Incentives vary, and neither estimate establishes what a particular buyer will pay. The reveal announcement and current Traveler page show how the company’s public pricing guidance has changed.

Charging, equipment and planned features
Scout’s current Traveler page says the vehicles will use a NACS charge port, with an adapter intended to provide access to CCS charging. Production compatibility requirements and final equipment details have not been established, so buyers should wait for Scout’s confirmed specifications before choosing charging equipment or an adapter.
Scout also promotes Traveler features including a retractable roof, front trunk, swing-out spare-wheel carrier and mounting points for customization. These are announced or displayed features, not a guarantee that every configuration will include them. The company notes that features and specifications may change.
