Scout EVs: What’s Confirmed About the Traveler and Terra (2026 Update)

Scout Motors plans two electric vehicles: the Traveler SUV and Terra pickup. Both are intended to offer battery-electric and gasoline range-extender versions, which Scout calls Harvester. As of October 2026, the company targets initial production in 2027 and anticipates first customer deliveries in 2028. The “2025” in the original topic is not a model-year designation or a claim that the vehicles launched that year: Scout revealed the production-intent concepts on October 24, 2024.

What are the Scout Traveler and Terra?

The Traveler is a full-size SUV, and the Terra is a full-size pickup. Scout Motors revealed both as production-intent concepts in October 2024. The company’s plan is to offer each with either a battery-electric powertrain or its optional Harvester range-extender system.

Harvester is not a conventional gasoline-driven version. Scout describes it as a system in which a gasoline engine recharges the vehicle’s high-voltage electrical system. The wheels are driven electrically; the engine’s stated role is to extend driving range by supplying electricity.

How far will a Scout EV go?

Scout’s April 2, 2026 Help Center estimates up to 350 miles for fully electric versions and more than 500 miles for Harvester versions. These are internal manufacturer targets, not EPA ratings or independent test results. Scout says EPA estimates will be provided when available. The estimates do not establish the range of a particular trim or the results a driver will get in specific conditions.

Configuration Scout’s announced estimate What the figure means
Battery-electric Up to 350 miles Scout internal target, reported April 2, 2026; not an EPA rating.
Harvester range-extender More than 500 miles Scout internal target, reported April 2, 2026; not an EPA rating.

What performance and off-road capability has Scout announced?

Scout projected 0–60 mph acceleration in as quickly as 3.5 seconds for fully electric versions and 4.5 seconds for Harvester versions. These are manufacturer projections, not results from an independent production-vehicle test.

At the October 2024 concept reveal, Scout also said fully electric versions were targeted to climb 100 percent grades and estimated nearly 1,000 lb-ft of torque. Those are dated concept-stage claims, not confirmed final production specifications. The reveal described four-wheel drive with an electric drive unit on each axle.

How will Scout vehicles charge and supply power?

Scout announced the North American Charging Standard (NACS), an 800-volt electrical architecture and charging capability up to 350 kW. It also announced bidirectional charging and power for off-site accessories and home backup use. These are announced capabilities; Scout’s available information does not specify final production equipment or charging limits, identify a particular compatible charger, or establish what home installation will require.

When will the Traveler and Terra be available?

Scout’s March 23, 2026 Help Center answer targets initial production in 2027, with validation vehicles beginning in 2026, and anticipates first customer deliveries in 2028. These are company plans, not a confirmation that retail vehicles are available now. A June 2026 factory update reported that the first welded Traveler body had been tested in the Body Shop; that is evidence of factory progress, not a retail launch.

Scout says the Traveler is planned to enter production first, beginning with the Harvester configuration. In a March 6, 2026 answer, the company said it had not specified a Terra start date. It has not published final production trim details in the cited updates.

How much will the Scout vehicles cost?

Scout’s current published U.S. retail starting-price target, stated April 2, 2026, is under $60,000 for both vehicles. The company says the target is subject to change; it is not a final transaction price or a guarantee of eligibility for any incentive.

At the 2024 reveal, Scout separately cited entry figures as low as $50,000 for the Traveler and $51,500 for the Terra with available incentives. Those older figures depended on incentives and should not be treated as the current price target or as a price every buyer can obtain.

What do reservation figures show?

Scout reported in March 2026 that more than 85% of reservations were for Harvester. A separate March 6, 2026 company answer said nearly 75% of reservations were for the Traveler. These are dated, company-reported shares of reservations—not sales, deliveries or an independent survey—and they do not establish future demand.

Scott Keogh, Scout Motors’ president and CEO, said in the company’s October 24, 2024 reveal announcement: “The original core idea — rugged, versatile vehicles capable of off-road adventure and family duty — is more relevant than ever.”
