How the V90 Villa Edition expands its living space
In travel configuration, the vehicle is described as a Class C motorhome with an alcove-style body and a raised second story integrated into its roofline. At a campsite, two sidewall slide-outs broaden the downstairs, while a pop-up structure raises a glass-enclosed room above it. The source says the upper room’s split window walls fold beneath the oversized roof when lowered. A small deck sits over the cab.
New Atlas reported 20 sq m (215 sq ft) of lower-floor area and 12.4 sq m (133 sq ft) upstairs. These are figures reported in 2021, not independently verified measurements. They describe the expanded living space, not the vehicle’s road-going footprint.
What is inside the two levels?
Downstairs: lounge and kitchen
The lower level is arranged around a lounge and kitchen separated by a bar counter. New Atlas describes a cooktop, oven and sink, plus a refrigerator in a nearby closet. The lounge includes an L-shaped sofa, a transparent television, audio equipment and ceiling-mounted projection units.

Upstairs: glass-enclosed lounge
The upper room is described as a place to lounge, dine, drink tea or study. Its glass was reported to switch between clear and opaque, offering a change in privacy and light without changing the room’s raised position.
Sleeping arrangements
The 2021 report identifies a sleeping alcove above the cab. It does not confirm additional berths or specify total sleeping capacity, so the lounge furniture should not be treated as a rated bed count.

How does the elevator work?
A compact, single-person elevator is positioned by the bathroom, behind the kitchen wall, to connect the lower floor to the raised room. New Atlas presented it as an alternative to a ladder or short staircase. The article does not provide engineering details such as load rating, dimensions, operating speed, emergency lowering, or accessibility certification, so the elevator’s practical capabilities cannot be assessed from that account alone.
What makes it a “smart” RV?
The described X-Connect RV smart system could be accessed through a wall touchscreen, mobile device or compatible wearable. New Atlas says controls included app, voice and gesture inputs. The feature report does not specify supported devices, connectivity requirements, the systems the controls operate, or whether those functions reached production.

What was its reported price and is it for sale?
New Atlas reported a debut price of CN¥2.68 million in its February 18, 2021 feature. That is a historical figure, not a current quote. The article says SAIC Maxus revealed the Villa Edition at a premiere the previous October and describes it as a customization-program showcase. It does not establish whether the vehicle entered series production, remains available, or can be purchased in any particular market.

The concept’s appeal is clear: a slide-out-expanded lower floor, a pop-up glass lounge, and an elevator connecting the two levels. But the New Atlas account does not provide travel height or weight, dimensions with the extensions deployed, technical specifications for the roof or glazing, safety certification, or independent testing. Those missing details matter when judging road suitability, campsite fit and real-world usability.
