What the under-$6,000 versions include
There is not one single Himalayan 450 configuration at this price. Royal Enfield presents multiple model years, colors and variants, with listed MSRPs below and above the threshold. Compare the exact configuration rather than assuming all versions have the same equipment.

The manufacturer’s listing includes configurations with differences such as tubeless spoked wheels and Mana Black Rally additions. The specific equipment tied to each listed price should be verified on the selected model-year and color listing, since MSRPs and configurations can change.
When did the Himalayan launch in America?
Royal Enfield announced the all-new Himalayan at its Motoverse event in Goa on November 24, 2023. Its announcement said Indian bookings and retail began that day, European availability was planned from March 2024, and the Americas would follow. It did not identify November 2023 as the U.S. launch date. The dated global launch announcement is therefore evidence of the global unveiling, not a date for first U.S. deliveries. The current U.S. product and support listings confirm a U.S. presence but do not date the first American retail availability.

What the Himalayan 450 is
The 450 is the new-generation Himalayan built around Royal Enfield’s Sherpa 450 engine. The company’s launch release specifies a 452cc liquid-cooled engine, six-speed gearbox and ride-by-wire. Its U.S. product page lists four riding modes, switchable ABS, a 21-inch front wheel, a 17-inch rear wheel, a 17-liter fuel tank and an adjustable two-piece seat.
Royal Enfield describes the motorcycle for on-road and off-road use and lists Showa inverted forks and a steel twin-spar frame. Those are manufacturer descriptions and specifications, not independent performance findings.
