RIZON announced its Canadian entry with Class 4–5 battery-electric trucks in April 2024. The company later reported its first shipment to British Columbia and a February 2025 customer handover in Victoria. Its Canadian lineup covers four e16 and e18 variants, with manufacturer-stated range of up to 177 km or 257 km depending on model size and battery-pack configuration. Those figures are not guarantees of route range, and the available company announcements do not establish current pricing, inventory or independent real-world performance.
What happened with the RIZON Canada launch?
On April 17, 2024, RIZON announced that its Class 4–5 battery-electric trucks were entering Canada. The company planned to open preorders in June 2024 and expected deliveries by year-end. Its launch plan named Velocity Electric Vehicle Canada as exclusive distributor beginning in the fourth quarter of 2024, with an initial network in Alberta, British Columbia and Québec. These were announced plans, not proof of broad availability at the time. RIZON’s April 2024 launch announcement set out the original schedule.
RIZON subsequently reported that its first Canadian shipment reached British Columbia on October 31, 2024. The company described a 22-truck order, with 12 units in the initial shipment and the remainder scheduled for November. In February 2025, RIZON reported its first official customer handover: an e18L dump truck delivered to Villamar Construction in Victoria. It also said 18 additional trucks, with dry-box, service and landscape-dump bodies, were to go to customers in British Columbia and Québec. These milestones are company-reported. Which RIZON models are available in Canada?
RIZON has named four Canadian variants: e16L, e16M, e18L and e18M. The company gives gross vehicle weight ratings (GVWR) across the range from 15,995 lb (7,255 kg) to 18,850 lb (8,550 kg). GVWR is the maximum loaded weight rating of the vehicle; it is not the truck’s payload capacity. Payload depends on the truck’s configuration and body, and a buyer should obtain the applicable vehicle and upfit specifications rather than infer payload from GVWR. RIZON’s Canadian truck specifications list the models and ratings.

The published range figures are manufacturer claims under stated standard test conditions at 50% payload. RIZON says actual range varies with environment, operating conditions, battery health and charge level, regenerative braking, traffic, road profile and driving style. Do not treat the maximum as a route guarantee: compare the required daily distance and reserve margin with a route-specific assessment for the intended body and load. The source does not provide independent range testing. RIZON’s specifications and range qualifications provide the stated figures.
What work can a RIZON medium-duty truck do?
RIZON positions the trucks for vocational work and lists dry vans, flatbeds, landscape dumps, garbage compactors and refrigerated applications. The company says an electric power take-off (ePTO), controlled from the cab, can power equipment such as hydraulic pumps and reefer belt drives. A reported Canadian e18L customer truck used a dump body; RIZON also described planned customer units fitted with dry-box, service and landscape-dump bodies. The customer-handover announcement covers those reported deployments, while the truck specifications describe the vocational applications and ePTO.

Fit depends on more than the chassis category. Before selecting a configuration, match the truck and body to the actual payload, equipment power needs, route, working hours and available charging window. The available announcements do not give a complete payload-by-body schedule or a comparative total-cost-of-ownership analysis.
Can a RIZON truck use a J1772 or CCS1 charger?
RIZON says its trucks support Level 2 AC charging through a J1772 connector and DC fast charging through CCS1. Connector compatibility alone does not establish that a particular charger or site will work for a fleet: electrical service, charger capacity, installation requirements, operating schedule and charging dwell time all matter. RIZON’s Southern Ontario dealer announcement also mentions charging-infrastructure guidance. RIZON’s charging information lists the connector types; its Premier Truck Group announcement describes the dealer’s guidance.

How do Canadian winter conditions affect planning?
RIZON’s April 2024 launch announcement describes battery preconditioning before operation using grid power, along with heated seats, a heated steering wheel and a heated windshield. These are manufacturer-described features, not independent evidence of winter range or performance. The available sources do not report an independent Canadian winter test. The launch announcement describes those features.
For a fleet operating in cold weather, evaluate the intended routes, payload, outdoor parking, preconditioning access, charging schedule and body equipment together. Do not apply the published range ceiling as a winter operating estimate without route-specific evidence.

Where has RIZON announced Canadian sales and dealer support?
RIZON reported nine dealer locations across British Columbia, Ontario and Québec in February 2025. A separate February 7, 2025 announcement said Premier Truck Group of Mississauga had contracted to serve Greater Toronto and Southern Ontario, with sales representatives, charging guidance and financing options. In April 2026, RIZON announced seven additional Québec sales centres across Greater Montréal, Québec City and Northeastern Québec. These are dated company announcements, not confirmation of each location’s current inventory or service status. Contact the dealer or RIZON to confirm current sales, service and delivery coverage before planning a purchase.

Are RIZON trucks eligible for Québec electric-truck incentives?
In April 2026, RIZON said eligible zero-emission freight vehicles could receive up to CAD 100,000 through Québec’s Écocamionnage program, said its trucks qualify, and stated that the program was scheduled to run through March 31, 2028. This is the manufacturer’s account, not a determination that a particular buyer, vehicle or application qualifies. Check the current program guide and confirm eligibility, application timing, available funds and any conditions with the administering authority before including an incentive in a purchase calculation. Earlier RIZON announcements cited approximately CAD 75,000 per truck under the federal iMHZEV incentive and provincial top-ups. Those figures are historical and time-sensitive; the available information does not establish current federal funding or application rules. Do not add historical amounts to the Québec figure to advertise a current combined incentive. Verify program availability and stacking rules with the relevant administrators and dealer. The February 2025 handover announcement contains the earlier federal-incentive claim.
What should a fleet verify before buying?
The published specifications and launch milestones help identify whether a RIZON truck merits a closer look, but do not settle the commercial decision. Ask the dealer for current documentation tied to the exact truck and body under consideration.
- Confirm the exact variant, battery-pack configuration, GVWR and body-specific payload.
- Model the real route, load, traffic, road profile, weather, daily schedule and required reserve rather than relying on a maximum range figure.
- Have the charging site assessed for electrical capacity, charger compatibility, installation needs and the fleet’s charging window.
- Confirm local dealer service capability, inventory, delivery timing, warranty terms and support for the chosen vocational body.
- Obtain a current purchase quote and calculate net acquisition cost only after the relevant incentive administrator confirms buyer and vehicle eligibility and application requirements.
The available company material does not establish current Canadian pricing, inventory, delivery lead times, independent reliability, real-world range or a complete total-cost comparison against other trucks. Those are purchase-critical questions to resolve with current dealer documents and route-specific operating analysis.
