The e-bike described in September 2025 coverage as “Rivian’s e-bike” was later identified as the ALSO TM-B, a pedal-assist bicycle from ALSO, a company reported to have spun out of Rivian. ALSO revealed the TM-B on October 22, 2025; that announcement is now in the past.
What was the e-bike teased ahead of the announcement?
The Verge’s September 18, 2025 report said ALSO was planning an announcement for October 22. TechCrunch subsequently reported that ALSO unveiled the TM-B at an event on that date. The original headline’s “next month” referred to October 2025, not an upcoming announcement.
The Rivian connection is corporate, not a confirmed product branding claim. TechCrunch reported that the project began inside Rivian and became a separate company in March 2025; it also reported that Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe sits on ALSO’s board. The reporting identifies the bicycle as the ALSO TM-B, not a Rivian-branded bike.
What specifications and price did reports give?
TechCrunch’s October 2025 coverage described the TM-B as a pedal-assist e-bike and reported the following figures. They are reported product specifications and an estimated range, not independent test results.

The coverage described the same listed specifications and price for both trims, but did not provide enough detail to establish how the Launch Edition and Performance differ. The reported $4,500 prices are historical figures, not confirmation of current pricing.
What happened with deliveries?
In a July 31, 2026 update, TechCrunch reported that ALSO said Launch Edition bikes had begun shipping from the manufacturer to a U.S. warehouse. ALSO then expected deliveries to run from the following week through September 2026. The report also noted earlier supply-chain delays.
