Its Yellowstone is the sleep-focused option, while the Grand Teton adds under-bed storage and a kitchen box with a sink, water pump, drawers and stove. RiverLeaf listed the Grand Teton at $3,490 and the Yellowstone from $810 when its product pages were checked; those are vendor prices, not a verified market-wide measure of savings over custom builds.

How installation and daily use work
RiverLeaf says the Grand Teton attaches using factory tie-downs and does not require drilling. Depending on the vehicle, the second-row seats may need to be stowed or removed. The company says setup or removal typically takes under an hour; because its other copy describes the process less precisely as taking “minutes,” treat setup time as vehicle- and configuration-dependent, not a guaranteed duration. The removable design lets the vehicle return to daily-driving duty when the kit is taken out. How practical that is depends on the effort of removing the platform and handling the seats in your particular van.

Mattress and comfort considerations
RiverLeaf says the platform is flat and stable enough to use without a mattress, but recommends a 2–3-inch folding or foam mattress for improved comfort and back support while preserving headroom. Measure the available sleeping area and check the mattress thickness against your vehicle’s interior before choosing one; the recommendation does not identify a universally fitting mattress. But those figures alone do not show how much a buyer saves versus a custom build, since no comparable custom-build price or like-for-like cost breakdown is established here. Consider the kit’s listed equipment, fitment and seat-handling requirements against the work and features you actually need rather than treating “affordable” as a guaranteed savings claim.
