What is the REI Co-op DRT e3.1?

Battery capacity alone cannot tell you how far the DRT e3.1 will travel on a charge. The official materials cited here do not provide an independently measured range; actual distance depends on conditions and use, so treat any distance estimate not tied to a documented test as uncertain.
Suspension, brakes and drivetrain
The DRT e3.1 has a 140 mm RockShox Recon Silver RL fork and a RockShox Deluxe Select Plus RT rear shock, giving it front and rear suspension. REI lists Tektro four-piston hydraulic disc brakes and a 12-speed SRAM SX Eagle drivetrain. Those are the stated components, not a promise of performance on a particular trail.

The listing specifies 2.6-inch tires on tubeless-ready rims and tires. Tubeless-ready does not mean the bike necessarily arrives set up tubeless: confirm the configuration of the specific bike, and check rim, tire and valve compatibility before buying sealant or conversion parts. REI also identifies fenders and a water-bottle cage as possible additions; verify mounting and fit for the bike’s size and model year.

Is the DRT e3.1 discontinued, and what does it cost?
REI’s product listing marks the DRT e3.1 discontinued. When accessed October 8, 2026, it displayed $2,498.93 against a comparison price of $4,999, along with sold-out size and color states and no shipping offer. Those are a dated page snapshot, not a guaranteed current price or proof of stock at a particular store. Check the live REI listing for current availability, price and size options.

What size DRT e3.1 should you look for?
REI’s launch-period overview described five sizes, XS through XL, for riders approximately 5 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall. That is broad launch-era coverage, not an individual fit recommendation or evidence that every size remains available. Use the current sizing information if available, and arrange an in-person fit when possible; rider height alone does not settle reach, standover comfort or preferred riding position. When comparing it with another e-MTB, weigh motor class and system, battery capacity and removability, suspension travel and component tier, brakes, gearing, weight, payload, fit, service access and actual price.
