A December 20, 2024 report by New Atlas described its design and performance targets, but did not establish that the bike entered production or is currently available to order.
What is Real Motors Project: Ares?
Project: Ares is an electric cafe racer prototype from Real Motors. Its styling looks retro-futuristic: clip-on handlebars and rear-set foot controls suggest a cafe racer, while white bodywork, a deep side fairing and a digital display with integrated GPS give it a more futuristic silhouette. The “cyberpunk” comparison describes its appearance; the report does not identify a connection to the Cyberpunk entertainment franchise.
New Atlas attributed this description of the riding experience collectively to Real Motors representatives Trent Dingman and Michael Feng: “We believe the best way to describe the freedom and power you feel when you ride your bike, is that you forget it’s there.” The article does not say which representative spoke those words.
What specifications were reported?

The report offered no test methodology for the range, acceleration or charging claims. Treat them as reported targets or figures for the prototype, not as a promise of what a production bike would deliver. New Atlas framed the performance as comparable to a 700–900cc gasoline motorcycle, but that was not a result of independent head-to-head testing.
Was Project: Ares delivered, and can you buy it?
New Atlas reported in December 2024 that Real Motors was seeking early adopters and had scheduled delivery for late 2025. That was a forecast, not confirmation that deliveries occurred. Current production status, pricing, geographic availability and order status are not established by the available reporting. There is also no current manufacturer specification sheet confirming the prototype’s figures as production specs.

- Advanced 200cc EFI Four-Valve Engine – Delivers 20.4 horsepower at 9,000 rpm for robust performance.
- 6-Speed Manual Transmission – Offers precise control and smooth gear transitions.
- Modern Café Racer Design – Combines classic aesthetics with a lightweight, sporty appearance.
- Full LED Lighting System – Includes LED headlights and taillights for enhanced visibility.

The same report mentioned the Ryvid Anthem as another electric city commuter, but it did not provide a like-for-like test, current prices or a verified availability comparison. A meaningful buying comparison would need confirmed sales status alongside comparable range, speed, charging and ergonomics.

Before treating Project: Ares as a purchasable motorcycle, look for current confirmation from Real Motors of production, orders, delivery timing and the countries served. Ask for final specifications and charging requirements, as well as a clear explanation of how the range and charging figures were measured. The reported 33.5-inch seat height and clip-on bars also make an in-person fit check particularly useful if the bike becomes available.
