The RadRunner Max is the model in Rad Power Bikes’ refreshed RadRunner utility e-bike family that the company says can reach 28 mph. Rad announced it alongside the standard RadRunner and RadRunner Plus on April 30, 2025. The Max is the family’s technology-focused option; the Plus is positioned for passenger carrying, while the standard RadRunner is the simpler single-speed choice.
Which RadRunner goes 28 mph?
It’s the RadRunner Max. Rad classifies the standard RadRunner and RadRunner Plus as Class 2 bikes, and describes the Max as a Class 1–3 model with a claimed top speed of 28 mph. These are the manufacturer’s descriptions; riders should check local e-bike rules, which can vary by location and may affect where a faster model can be used. Figures and descriptions come from Rad’s 2025 launch announcement, its current e-bike category listing and the RadRunner Max product page. They are manufacturer specifications and positioning, not results from a head-to-head test.
What the RadRunner Max offers
Rad’s current product page lists a 750 W motor, 420 lb maximum payload and 60+ mile range headline. Equipment includes hydraulic disc brakes, rear radar, turn signals, a Safe Shield battery, phone-based locking and Apple Find My compatibility. The page also lists a 90 Nm torque sensor.

Rad says a separately sold Range Extender can raise claimed range to 125+ miles. Both range figures are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. Actual range can vary with factors such as load, terrain, riding conditions and assist setting. The product page lists a recommended rider height of 4 ft 11 in to 6 ft 2 in. Which model fits your use?
- Consider the Max if the 28 mph claim and added technology such as radar and turn signals are important to you.
- Consider the Plus if the passenger-ready equipment is the priority.
- Consider the standard RadRunner if you want the simpler single-speed model.
