Those are a dated listed price and a manufacturer range claim, not a promise of future pricing or an independently verified ride result.
What the RadKick Belt Drive offers
Rad Power Bikes positions the RadKick Belt Drive for urban riding and everyday trips. Its product page lists a 20 mph top speed, 500 W power, a torque sensor, hydraulic disc brakes, lights, a single-speed drivetrain and a two-year warranty. These are manufacturer-published specifications; the page’s 35+ mile range is likewise a claim, not a measured real-world result. RadKick Belt Drive product page.
Rad’s August 7, 2024 launch announcement said the bike weighed under 55 lb. That is a launch-era figure, not a current weight reverified on the product listing. The same announcement reported that the battery was certified by ACT to UL 2849 and UL 2271 standards; that statement applies to the battery described by Rad, not to every e-bike or battery. How much can it carry?
The rear rack is rated by Rad for up to 55 lb of cargo. Rad also lists a compatible Front Rack with a 30 lb carrying capacity. These are separate rack ratings; check fitment and availability when buying accessories. Rad Front Rack.

The product page’s 300 lb payload headline is a total-payload figure, not 300 lb of cargo capacity. It should not be added to the rack limits or interpreted as a rack rating. With suitable accessories, the bike is oriented toward ordinary commuting loads such as a bag or groceries. Rad’s RadKick accessories collection lists compatible carrying options, including baskets.
If carrying a passenger or routinely moving bulky, heavy loads is the main job, look at a purpose-built cargo platform instead. Rad lists the RadWagon 5 in its cargo/utility range, but the available figures here do not establish a like-for-like comparison of capacity, price, range or weight. Rad cargo and utility bikes.

Rad says the belt needs no lubrication, requires minimal upkeep, is quieter and can go longer between service appointments. Those are the company’s descriptions, not independent findings about durability, lifetime cost or maintenance savings. Whether the Belt Drive is worth the listed price depends on the combination of features that matters to you: a single-speed belt, the manufacturer’s claimed range, and rack capacity for modest daily loads. A rider who frequently faces steep or changing terrain may prefer the geared model; someone expecting passenger or heavy cargo use should consider a dedicated cargo bike. No independent comparative test or real-world range result is established here.

Who should consider it?
- Consider it if you want a commuter for everyday trips, value a belt-driven single-speed setup, and expect to carry ordinary items within the rack ratings.
- Compare it with the 7-Speed if your route includes hills or you want more gearing options.
- Look at a dedicated cargo bike if passenger transport or frequent heavy loads are central to your plans.
- Check before buying for the current price, stock, accessory fitment and the limits of the specific racks you intend to use.
