When did Sargodha’s electric-bus service launch?
The Punjab Transport Department lists the Sargodha electric-bus inauguration as September 19, 2025. Punjab Transport Department event listing records the date. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif led the launch ceremony and took a symbolic ride from Circuit House to the University of Sargodha, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP). That ceremonial journey should not be mistaken for a confirmed public route.
How many buses were announced?

What are the Sargodha route, timetable and fare?
The launch coverage available here does not specify an operational stop list, public route, timetable or settled Sargodha fare. The Circuit House–University of Sargodha trip was ceremonial, so it does not establish a route available to passengers.
The Punjab Portal’s E-Buses page lists Sargodha among operational districts but does not provide Sargodha-specific route details. A separate Punjab Portal announcement from October 2025 describes provincial fare and eligibility terms; its broader terms do not establish the current local policy in Sargodha. Riders should check a current local notice or ask the transport authority before relying on a particular route, fare or concession.

At the ceremony, Maryam Nawaz Sharif characterized the decision to begin in smaller cities as unprecedented in Punjab’s history. That is the chief minister’s description of the policy, not an independently established comparison or proof of service outcomes. The launch reports provide no measured ridership, emissions reduction or service-quality results.
For prospective passengers, the confirmed takeaway is the inauguration date and the launch-era announcements. The available reports do not answer the practical questions of which bus to board, when it runs, what it costs or who currently qualifies for free travel.
