In its May 9, 2023 announcement, Porsche Newsroom described it as a handcrafted chronograph made by Porsche’s watchmaking operation in Solothurn, Switzerland. The company identifies a titanium case, carbon-fiber dial, vehicle-leather strap and rotor whose design reflects the car’s wheels.
The connection is more than a logo or a name. Porsche Design’s technical sheet documents configuration details intended to echo the car, including wheel-colour rotor options and strap stitching. The choices let an eligible buyer coordinate the watch with the car; they are configuration options, not performance upgrades.
How do eligibility and availability work?
Porsche says the watch is exclusive to buyers or owners of the matching 718 Spyder RS. At launch, Porsche Design said it was available from May 10, 2023, exclusively to buyers of the 718 Spyder RS and the 718 Spyder RS with Weissach package. Porsche’s current US shop copy also describes it as exclusive to owners. How does it relate to the 718 Spyder RS?
The watch’s appeal rests on its direct material and design links to a particular car. For context, Porsche’s May 2023 US announcement listed the 2024 718 Spyder RS at $160,700 MSRP, plus $1,650 for delivery, processing and handling; those are historical US-market vehicle figures, not current pricing.
Porsche Newsroom Australia’s 2024 product highlights specify a 3,996 cc naturally aspirated flat-six producing 368 kW / 500 PS and 450 Nm, with a 9,000 rpm maximum engine speed. Porsche reported 0–100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 308 km/h on a suitable closed racing circuit without the roof fitted. Those are Porsche’s published vehicle figures, not independent test results.
