A Cup car’s cited engine and gearbox milestones are expressed in operating hours under track or racing use. A car can accumulate substantial service-relevant use without accumulating much road mileage, so a road-car odometer alone cannot establish where it sits in the published schedule. Ask for the car’s hour-meter readings and the records that explain them. A useful history should let you understand when the engine check and gearbox inspections or overhaul occurred, who performed the work, and what documentation supports the current status. If the records are incomplete or the meter history is unclear, the interval status is uncertain; do not treat a seller’s estimate based on days or seasons raced as equivalent to a verified hour log.

What model year and series rules change the answer?
“992 Cup” does not identify one unchanging schedule. The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2024 regulations list 2021–2024 model years of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) as eligible for that season. A 2025 Porsche announcement describes the next Cup model, the 992.2 design, and Porsche Motorsport said it would enter Carrera Cup North America for the 2026 season. The later car’s published description does not state specific service-hour figures.

Rules are series-specific. The 2024 Supercup regulations say certain Cup special parts are available only through Porsche Motorsport Parts Sales, rather than the Porsche dealer organization.
