The entry rear-wheel-drive model is rated for 650 km, or just over 400 miles, on China’s CLTC test cycle. That is not an EPA rating or a promise of real-world range, and the converted price is not a U.S. MSRP.
What the Honda S7 launch figures mean
The S7 is a China-market electric SUV from Honda’s Ye lineup. Honda unveiled the Ye S7 in April 2024; Dongfeng Honda launched it in China in March 2025. Honda’s global announcement framed the Ye Series as a China-market lineup, not a U.S. launch.
The “400-mile” figure comes from converting Honda’s 650 km CLTC rating for the single-motor trim: 650 km is about 404 miles. CLTC is the Chinese test cycle, so the conversion does not make the rating equivalent to an EPA result. The sources cited here do not establish an independently measured real-world range for the S7.
Likewise, “$36K” is a rough conversion of the entry trim’s launch price in yuan. It is not a price set by Honda for the United States.

Honda S7 trims, prices and range
Honda China’s March 2025 launch notice lists two versions. The range figures are manufacturer-stated CLTC ratings; motor outputs are from independent launch reporting.

The AWD version costs RMB 50,000 more at launch, adds a second motor and driven front wheels, and has a lower stated CLTC range. The figures do not establish how either trim performs in comparable real-world driving.

Battery, dimensions and reported cabin features
Honda’s China launch materials specify an 89.8 kWh CATL ternary-lithium battery pack. Honda also says the pack has 13 independently replaceable modules and claims this design can reduce repair costs by up to 80%. That cost reduction is the manufacturer’s claim, not an independent repair-cost finding.
Independent launch reports give the S7’s dimensions as 4,750 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,625 mm tall, with a 2,930 mm wheelbase. Interesting Engineering reports 471 L of trunk capacity. CarNewsChina describes a 24-inch central display, a 9.9-inch instrument screen and a 41.9-inch augmented-reality head-up display; equipment can vary by trim or market, and those measurements are attributed to that report.

Photos: details to look for
In the photo story published by Interesting Engineering, the S7 is shown with retractable door handles, a prominent illuminated H emblem and a coupe-like roofline. Cabin images show a large central display alongside a separate driver display. These are visual details from published vehicle imagery, not evidence of independent road testing.
Honda’s April 2024 Ye-series announcement described the S7’s underlying Architecture W and its product features. Honda characterized the rear-drive version as more suited to everyday family use and the AWD version as aimed at buyers seeking performance and sportiness; those are Honda’s marketing descriptions. No independent road test or firsthand driving assessment is represented here.

Is the Honda S7 sold in the United States?
The cited Honda listings and announcements cover China. They do not establish U.S. availability, a U.S. price, or a launch in another market. Honda Global said in April 2024 that it planned to launch six Ye Series models in China by 2027; that was a plan announced at the time, not confirmation that the target was later met.
