Kelly Bise and the KBR team’s C6 Corvette was reported to reach 263.93 mph in a standing-mile run at the ECTS Motorsports Top Speed Event in Arkansas—often rounded to 264 mph. DragTimes reported the speed; Interesting Engineering described it as a standing-mile record. The available reporting does not include an official timing sheet or record-authority confirmation.
How fast did the C6 Corvette go?
DragTimes reported a standing-mile speed of 263.93 mph on October 17, 2024. Interesting Engineering also reported 263.93 mph (424.75 kph), and placed the run at the ECTS Motorsports Top Speed Event in Arkansas. Its account gives a half-mile split of 216.138 mph (347.84 kph). The headline figure of 264 mph is a rounding of 263.93 mph.
Interesting Engineering says the car continued at 233.161 mph a quarter-mile beyond the mile marker. It also reports that oil overflowed from the catch tank after the run, preventing additional passes. Those event details come from the publication’s account, not a supplied timing sheet.
Was the 264 mph run officially verified as a record?
Interesting Engineering called the result a standing-mile top-speed record, while DragTimes titled its report “LS Powered Corvette World Record – 264 MPH Standing Mile.” The available reports do not provide an official timing document or a record-authority page, so the record label should be attributed to those outlets rather than presented as independently certified or universal. Record status may also have changed since the reports appeared in October 2024.

How much does the car weigh?
The two reports disagree: DragTimes gives 3,380 pounds, while Interesting Engineering gives 3,880 pounds. Neither figure can be reconciled from the reporting, so the car’s weight is not established by these accounts.

What does “standing mile” mean when comparing this run?
A standing-mile run measures a vehicle’s speed after accelerating from a start over one mile. A meaningful comparison with another car needs more than the headline speed. Check the course distance and starting procedure, where and how the speed was measured, the event’s timing authority and class, vehicle weight, and whether the horsepower figure refers to the engine or the wheels. The available reports do not establish a comparable official category for other cars.
