Its updates said the flooding and crashes had been cleared; they do not describe current traffic conditions.
Which Perth roads were affected?
PerthNow’s 11 June 2026 report described four separate incidents during the evening commute. The times and locations below are details from that historical report, not live traffic updates.

PerthNow’s report described congestion and disruption, but did not establish that rain caused any of the crashes. It did not provide crash circumstances, injury counts, a rainfall total for the event, or a separate breakdown location. Although “breakdowns” appeared in the headline wording, the report does not identify a distinct breakdown incident.
Are the incidents still affecting traffic?
The report said the incidents had been cleared by the time of its updates. That is a historical status, not confirmation of what is happening on those roads now. Conditions can change, so check the official Main Roads WA Travel Map for current alerts before setting out.

Main Roads identifies the map as its official traffic and travel information source for Perth and WA. It covers live alerts including crashes, flooding, breakdowns, closures, road conditions and detours. Its roadworks and road closures information also directs drivers to the map for current conditions.
What is known—and not known—about the cause?
The report places flooding and crashes within the same wet-weather commute, but does not show that the weather caused any crash. It also does not establish how much rain fell on 11 June, whether anyone was injured, or the full circumstances of any collision. A Bureau of Meteorology live rainfall display is not a retrospective total for this event.

Perth’s earlier storm-related traffic disruption
A separate event illustrates how severe weather can affect peak-hour travel, but it should not be confused with the June 2026 incidents. The Western Australian State Emergency Management Committee’s Emergency Preparedness Report 2013 describes a storm that reached Perth on 22 March 2010. The report says the first storms reached the CBD at about 4 pm, worsening peak-hour congestion and interrupting public transport.
- The report reproduces Bureau of Meteorology observations of 40.2 mm of rain at Mount Lawley during the 2010 storm, including 23 mm in 10 minutes.
- The 2013 report says power loss affected more than 190 traffic lights during that 2010 event.
Those rainfall and signal figures apply to the March 2010 storm, not the 11 June 2026 commute.
