The Chevron City to Surf for genU took place on Sunday, 30 August 2026, so its road closures are no longer in effect. On event day, the organizer’s schedule covered roads from Perth CBD to City Beach, with closures starting between 1:00am and 8:30am and estimated reopenings between 9:30am and 2:00pm. These were estimates in a schedule marked subject to change, not confirmation of when each road actually reopened.
What roads were closed for the City to Surf in Perth?
The organizer listed closures across Perth CBD, West Perth, Subiaco, Jolimont and Daglish, Floreat, and City Beach. Roads were closed in both directions unless the schedule specified otherwise. How was access to QEII Medical Centre affected?
Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre advised patients, staff, and visitors to use alternate hospital routes during a planned 7:30am–10:30am closure that included Thomas Street. Its City to Surf road-closure notice was published on 26 August 2026 and last updated on 17 August 2026. The organizer also provided hospital access maps for The Mount, Sir Charles Gairdner, Hollywood, Perth Children’s, King Edward Memorial, and Graylands hospitals; consult the relevant map rather than inferring a route from the closure list.
Where could people park during the event?
The organizer warned that parking restrictions applied along closure routes and that vehicles could receive infringements or be towed. Its event page links a no-parking map. The restriction warning relates to the 30 August 2026 event and should not be read as a current parking notice.
