The British-headquartered brand says it hopes to challenge BMW, Audi and other established marques, but the announcement does not yet establish a finished vehicle, confirmed launch date or specifications.
What is the Perseus electric SUV?
Perseus is a British-headquartered EV brand developing its first vehicle: a compact electric SUV. The company describes its intended focus as design, technology, performance, user experience and value. Its stated ambition is to make what it calls an “attainable premium” product, but that is a company positioning statement rather than an independent assessment of the vehicle. Fleet World reproduced Perseus’s description of the planned SUV as combining “inspirational and emotive design, groundbreaking technology, engaging performance and exceptional user experience with compelling value.”
No final design or model name has been reported. The available coverage also does not give a price, battery capacity, driving range, charging rate, dimensions, power output, trim levels or production volume. Those details will be needed to judge how the SUV compares with existing premium electric crossovers.
When will the Perseus SUV launch?
Fleet World reported on June 30, 2026, that Perseus is targeting a late-2027 arrival. This is a reported target, not a confirmed delivery date; the announcement does not establish when production will begin or when customers could take delivery. The report does not provide an order-opening date or identify the markets where the SUV will be sold.

How does Perseus plan to develop and sell it?
Reporting describes a proposed network of specialist partners, but does not identify them by name:
- Vehicle platform: Perseus plans to license an EV platform from an unnamed European original equipment manufacturer (OEM) group.
- Design and engineering: An unnamed Italian firm is expected to contribute design and engineering work.
- Software: An unnamed automotive software specialist is associated with human-machine interface (HMI), AI and automotive software.
- Manufacturing: The company has engaged a European contract manufacturer, which would build the vehicle on its behalf.
The reports describe these as planned or in-principle arrangements. Without named suppliers or further detail, they do not establish which specific systems each partner will provide or how far development has progressed. CleanTechnica’s March 19, 2025 article says it was based on an embargoed Perseus press release; its speculation about possible suppliers is not confirmation of their involvement.

Fleet World says Perseus plans to combine online direct sales with brand experience centres and use its platform partner’s European service and maintenance network. The reporting does not name the service provider or confirm warranty terms, launch countries or sales arrangements.
Is Perseus really taking on BMW and Audi?
That is the competitive positioning, not yet a demonstrated comparison. Perseus has said it aims to enter the premium compact SUV category and challenge brands including BMW and Audi. With no published vehicle specifications, pricing or independent results, there is not enough information to assess whether it will match those rivals for performance, quality, technology, value or customer service.

Once detailed specifications are available, a useful comparison will need to match prices and trims and examine real-world range and efficiency, charging speed and access, performance, cabin and software features, warranty, service coverage, delivery timing and independent safety results. Until then, BMW and Audi are best understood as the competitors Perseus hopes to challenge, rather than established benchmarks against which its SUV has been tested.

It does not establish the SUV’s final appearance, name, price, technical specifications, production numbers, order date, warranty or confirmed availability by country. Fleet World’s June 30, 2026 report is the most recent coverage cited here; its page timed out during access, so its details are based on the report’s search-result excerpt. CleanTechnica’s earlier March 19, 2025 article was accessible and states that it drew on a Perseus embargoed press release. Because launch plans and partner arrangements can change, buyers should look for subsequent company announcements before treating the target timing or planned arrangements as final.
