Peak Performance Campers’ Ultralight Stealth is a slide-in pickup camper built around a configurable interior rather than one fixed floor plan. Its Modu-Lok system provides mounting points for movable modules and accessories; the company currently calls the components “modules,” not pods. The practical choice depends on the truck bed and payload as much as on the layout you want.
What is the Ultralight Stealth?
The Ultralight Stealth is a pickup-bed camper from Peak Performance Campers. The company presents it in bed-length-specific configurations, then allows buyers to select modules and accessories for the interior. That makes the “plug-and-play pods” idea a useful shorthand, but the manufacturer’s current language is Modu-Lok and modules—not a guarantee that every component fits every Stealth configuration.
New Atlas introduced the camper on August 5, 2024, describing an estimated 550-pound base weight and an early version of Modu-Lok. It also cited a historical starting price of $24,000. Those figures are not the current manufacturer listings; current listed weights and prices vary by bed-length configuration.

How the Modu-Lok modular interior works
Peak describes Modu-Lok as a system of mounting and storage points for movable modules and accessories. Its current 6.5-foot listing shows examples including kitchen and power modules, as well as accessories such as MOLLE panels and bungees. The company also describes module-based amenities and a design service for selecting or creating a layout.

- Don’t Rush to Return!: When first using the air mattress, you may think it’s leaking due to the stretching caused by the air pressure. Simply inflate the mattress fully again to allow it to expand. Repeat this process for 2-3 nights until the mattress fully inflates and settles into its final shape.
The useful distinction is between the camper shell and the build-out: the shell is selected for a truck-bed configuration, while modules and accessories shape how the interior serves a trip. A buyer might prioritize cooking and power, or ask about a different arrangement. The available pages do not establish that every module is compatible with every bed length or build, so confirm fit and specifications with Peak before ordering.
How to choose a configuration for your truck
- Match the camper to the bed. Identify the truck’s bed length and tailgate arrangement, then confirm the specific Stealth configuration and fit guidance with Peak. The 5-foot listing includes tailgate-related guidance; do not assume a nominal bed length alone settles fit.
- Check payload with the complete travel load. Start with the truck’s payload information and account for the camper, selected modules, occupants, and other gear. The listed dry weight is not the weight of the complete loaded vehicle. The manufacturer figures do not independently establish payload suitability for any particular truck.
- Define the layout and utilities you need. Decide which functions matter—such as kitchen or power—and ask which modules and accessories can be used in the chosen configuration. Consider their added weight and the total configured price, not only the listed camper price.
- Use the Design Lab to confirm the build. Peak says buyers can select pre-designed modules or request custom ones. Its process includes confirmation of specifications and an initial layout before deposit and production. Resolve compatibility, layout, and build details at that stage.
What the published figures do—and do not—tell you
The current manufacturer listings provide configuration-specific dry weights, prices, and some system details. They do not amount to independent testing, a durability assessment, or proof that a camper will suit a particular truck’s payload. Treat the 2024 New Atlas estimates as historical coverage, and use the manufacturer’s current build information for a purchase decision.
