Paris Ow-Yang was reported charged with drink-driving after a Mercedes sedan struck a parked van on Wolseley Road in Point Piper, Sydney, on 18 October 2023. The initial reports described an alleged positive roadside breath test; later coverage said Ow-Yang pleaded guilty and was convicted.
What happened in Point Piper?
PerthNow reported that police were called to Wolseley Road at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, 18 October 2023, after a Mercedes sedan driven by an 18-year-old woman hit a parked van. The report identified the driver as Paris Ow-Yang. A separate realestate.com.au report published the following day also described the crash and the reported charge.
PerthNow quoted a NSW Police spokesperson as saying: “The driver of the Mercedes, an 18-year-old woman, underwent a roadside breath test which allegedly returned a positive result.” The wording was an allegation in the police account, not a court finding.
What was the reported charge and breath-test reading?
PerthNow reported on 25 October 2023 that Ow-Yang had been taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with drink-driving. The report said she was due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on 10 November 2023.

The same PerthNow article attributed a 0.213 breath-test reading to the Daily Telegraph. That figure is secondhand reporting in the article; it was not verified against an original police or court record. The contemporaneous reports establish the initial charge and scheduled court date, not the final legal status.
What was the later reported court outcome?
A later realestate.com.au report summarized the case as having proceeded to a guilty plea and conviction. It reported a $1,000 fine and a two-year community corrections order. This outcome was reported by the outlet; no primary court record is cited in the available coverage.
