What were the new fuel prices from January 1, 2026?
The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) announced petroleum-product prices effective January 1, 2026. Dawn reported the following changes for the first fortnight:

How to interpret the reductions
Petrol
Dawn’s reported new petrol rate and reduction imply a previous rate of Rs263.45 per litre (Rs253.17 + Rs10.28). That is an arithmetic calculation from the reported figures, not a separately quoted price.

High-speed diesel
The reported cut establishes that HSD fell by Rs8.57 per litre, but the accessible report does not give the resulting per-litre rate. The reduction alone is not enough to calculate the new price, so no diesel price level is stated here.
Were these still Pakistan’s fuel prices after January 15?
No. OGRA’s notified-price archive lists a separate notification dated January 16, followed by later revisions. That makes the January 1 rates period-specific rather than a guide to prices today. OGRA’s publication portal displayed entries dated October 6 and October 3, 2026 when reviewed, but the accessible listing did not show their numerical rates. Check the relevant official notification for the rate applicable to a particular date.
