Pagani’s 2023 account says its Zonda “La Nonna” was restored after 550,000 km; a 2015 TopSpeed headline describes the car as having one million kilometers. The figures conflict, and the available accounts do not explain why. What is clear is that La Nonna was no ordinary customer car: Pagani identifies it as chassis 2, a corporate prototype used to develop Zonda road models.
Why La Nonna matters to Pagani
Pagani identifies La Nonna as Zonda chassis number 2 and a corporate prototype involved in developing Zonda road models from 1998 onward. Its significance is therefore tied not only to how far it was driven, but also to its role in the model’s development.
Pagani describes its original finish as Monte Carlo Grey, with red leather and dark grey Alcantara in the interior. The company’s 25th-anniversary account says the car was restored after 550,000 km and later placed in the Horacio Pagani Museum. Pagani’s 25th-anniversary account does not provide an itemized restoration record or a completion date.
Why reports give different mileage figures
The two figures come from different sources and dates, and they should not be treated as interchangeable confirmations.

TopSpeed’s 2015 report uses the one-million-kilometer claim in its headline. Pagani’s later published figure is 550,000 km. The sources do not say whether the numbers refer to different points in the car’s history, a different odometer reading, or an error in the older report. As a result, “one million kilometers” is a reported claim, not a mileage figure confirmed by Pagani.
What Pagani says about its restoration approach
Pagani’s Rinascimento program is its restoration and certification initiative. The company says its specialized team handles one project at a time, documents and signs off on each process, and compiles records in a dedicated restoration book. Its stated aim is to preserve authenticity by using original components, materials, methods and molds where possible.

Pagani says La Nonna was placed in the Horacio Pagani Museum. TopSpeed’s 2015 report described the car as displayed in the factory showroom. These accounts refer to different publication dates, and they do not establish the car’s current display location or whether the public can visit it.
