The one-off Ferrari Daytona SP3 Tailor Made, serial number 599+1, sold for $26 million at RM Sotheby’s Monterey auction in 2025. RM Sotheby’s called it the most valuable new car sold at auction. The car was later set to appear at Casa Ferrari during the Pebble Beach Concours, but the auction itself took place in Monterey.
What sold for $26 million?
The lot was a 2025 Ferrari Daytona SP3 Tailor Made, designated 599+1. RM Sotheby’s described the car as an additional, one-off example beyond the Daytona SP3’s original allocation of 599 cars. The sale took place at RM Sotheby’s Monterey 2025 auction, not at the Pebble Beach Concours. After Saturday’s auction, the car was to be transported for display at Casa Ferrari during Sunday’s Pebble Beach event. RM Sotheby’s lot record and its 18 August 2025 post-sale release reported the result as $26,000,000.
What made the 599+1 different?
RM Sotheby’s presented the car as a capstone built through Ferrari’s Tailor Made customization program. Its bespoke details included exposed carbon fiber paired with Giallo Modena paint, a full-length Ferrari logotype—which the lot description called a first for a Ferrari road car—and cabin fabric called Q-Cycle, derived from recycled tires. These details distinguish this particular charity lot; they do not describe every Daytona SP3.
RM Sotheby’s identifies the Daytona SP3 as the third model in Ferrari’s Icona Series, introduced in 2021. In the auction description, the car’s naturally aspirated, mid-mounted 6.5-liter V-12 is rated at 829 horsepower, with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a stated 0–100 km/h time of 2.85 seconds. Where were the proceeds going?
RM Sotheby’s said all proceeds would benefit The Ferrari Foundation for future educational initiatives. The auction house identifies the Foundation as a 501(c)(3) public charity. The lot record also states that the buyer’s premium was waived.
What did the auction terms require?
The car was built to US specifications. RM Sotheby’s lot terms said buyers outside the United States were responsible for export, import and federalization. A US-resident winning bidder had to arrange delivery to an authorized US Ferrari dealership to complete documentation and title work. The lot included a one-off carbon clutch inspired by Ferrari silhouettes, an official window sticker, owner’s manual and warranty book, tool kit, battery conditioner and cover kit; those contents do not establish that matching items are separately available.

Does the $26 million result set the value of other Daytona SP3s?
No. This was a unique, extra-allocation Tailor Made car sold in a charity context, with the buyer’s premium waived. The result establishes what this specific lot brought at this auction; it does not establish a typical market value for an ordinarily allocated Daytona SP3. RM Sotheby’s sale information does not provide a comparable sample of ordinary SP3 transactions from which to derive one. Auction record; post-sale release.
