Nissan has scheduled a seven-seat C-SUV for India in early 2027, and a camouflaged three-row vehicle has now been reported testing. Media outlets link the prototype to the Tekton, but Nissan’s published roadmap does not name the SUV or confirm its specifications. Here’s what the sightings suggest—and what remains unknown.
When is Nissan’s seven-seat SUV expected to launch in India?
Nissan Motor India’s product roadmap, announced on December 18, 2025, lists a seven-seat C-SUV for early 2027, following the Gravite and Tekton. Nissan said specifications and pricing would be announced later. The roadmap does not provide an exact launch date or a production name. Nissan’s official roadmap announcement is the confirmed basis for the timing.
What do the test sightings show?
Autocar India and CarWale reported sightings on October 6, 2026, of a heavily camouflaged SUV with three rows. Autocar describes a longer rear section than the five-seat Tekton, including a longer rear quarter panel and larger quarter glass. It also notes a different rear-light signature and a connecting light bar. CarWale reports different rear lighting, light bars at both ends, roof rails and front parking sensors. Because the vehicle is wrapped and Nissan has not published production details, these are media observations or interpretations—not a confirmed equipment list or final design.
Is it based on the Nissan Tekton?
Both outlets identify the test vehicle as a Tekton-based three-row SUV. Autocar India reports that Nissan India managing director Saurabh Vatsa described the planned seven-seat model as “completely different, not just an extension of the Tekton,” while sharing the CMF-B platform. That comment is attributed to Vatsa by Autocar; Nissan’s roadmap itself does not identify the SUV as Tekton-based or confirm a model name. The sightings and reporting suggest a relationship, but the name and production positioning remain unannounced.

What seating, engine and features might it get?
Nissan has not confirmed the seating arrangement, powertrain, transmission or features. Media expectations differ, so they should be treated as possibilities rather than specifications.

What could it cost, and which SUVs might it rival?
Nissan has not announced a price. Autocar India places its own expected range at Rs 18–22 lakh ex-showroom; this is a media estimate, not a Nissan price or confirmed figure. Autocar frames the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar as expected rivals, but Nissan has not officially positioned the vehicle against them.
Once Nissan publishes specifications, useful comparisons for Indian family-car buyers will include the price and variant structure, access to the third row, usable space with all rows occupied, luggage capacity, powertrain and transmission, and safety equipment. Confirmed Nissan figures for those comparisons are not yet available.
