Nissan announced its third-generation, U.S.-market 2026 LEAF on June 17, 2025, replacing the familiar hatchback shape with a crossover design. Nissan estimates up to 303 miles of range, but that figure applies to the S+ grade; the SV+ and Platinum+ have lower estimates. The specifications and range figures below are Nissan-published estimates, not independent road-test results.
How far can the 2026 Nissan LEAF go?
Nissan’s U.S. press kit gives different estimated ranges for each grade. The S+ has the highest estimate at 303 miles; the Platinum+ estimate is 259 miles. Nissan says range can vary with driving and charging habits, weather, temperature and battery age.

What changed in the new LEAF?
The third-generation model moves the LEAF from its established hatchback form to a family-oriented crossover profile, with an SUV-like stance and a more streamlined shape. Nissan’s design story describes a minimalist cabin and reports a drag coefficient of 0.26. Nissan credits the design project to Giovanny Arroba, vice president of Nissan Design Europe.

What are the battery and charging specifications?
Nissan’s U.S. press kit lists a 75-kWh battery, a maximum charging rate of up to 150 kW and two charge ports: J1772 for home charging and many Level 2 public chargers, and NACS for fast charging. Nissan estimates a compatible Level 3 DC charger can take the battery from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes. Actual charging time depends on charger compatibility and conditions.

The kit also lists Plug & Charge capability and a portable 120V/240V charging cable. Nissan’s June 2025 materials described access to more than 20,000 Tesla Superchargers through NACS; that is the network-access claim made at the time, not a current station count.
How do the U.S. grades and announced prices compare?
On August 19, 2025, Nissan announced U.S. starting MSRPs of $29,990 for the S+ and $34,230 for the SV+. The figures are announced MSRPs, not dealer offers or transaction prices. The cited pricing release does not state a Platinum+ starting MSRP.
