What was reported about Nissan, Ford and Stellantis?
On October 9, 2025, CarExpert summarized Automotive News reporting that Nissan was speaking with other automakers about a vehicle based on the upcoming Rogue hybrid. CarExpert said one source identified Ford and Stellantis among the parties in the discussions. The report described a possible vehicle using Nissan’s e-POWER hybrid system, but did not announce an agreement. CarExpert’s account of the Automotive News report also said Nissan preferred a reciprocal arrangement that could involve supplying an electric vehicle to Nissan; that arrangement was not described as a necessary condition for a deal.
Neither Ford nor Stellantis is quoted confirming those specific talks in the available coverage. The report does not establish which Stellantis brand might be involved, what technology or vehicles would be shared, or whether the discussions continued.
What did Nissan say about potential partners?
In an account published December 8, 2025, Car and Driver reported remarks from Ponz Pandikuthira, then Nissan America’s head of product planning. Pandikuthira said Nissan was talking with several potential partners, that any arrangement should be reciprocal, and that no decisions had been made. He said, “We would not engage with a partner just to buy a vehicle, or platform, or piece of tech.” Car and Driver’s report connected Ford and Stellantis to rumors around the Rogue, while describing Nissan’s public comments as broader partnership discussions—not confirmation of a Rogue deal.

What is confirmed about the 2027 Nissan Rogue Hybrid?
Nissan officially unveiled the 2027 Rogue Hybrid e-POWER on September 21, 2026. Its e-POWER system uses a gasoline engine to generate electricity for a battery and two electric motors; the motors alone drive the wheels. Nissan describes it as a hybrid that does not need external charging. That confirmed product information does not show that Ford or Stellantis will use the vehicle, its technology, or its platform. Nissan’s announcement gives the following U.S. availability and MSRP details:

Nissan says destination and handling add $1,575 to these U.S. MSRPs; dealer-set prices may differ. Nissan estimated 40 mpg city for the 2027 Rogue Hybrid based on its internal testing, noting that actual mileage may vary and the estimate is for comparison. These are Nissan-published figures, not independent test results.

Could Ford or Dodge sell a version of the Rogue Hybrid?
That remains unconfirmed. The 2025 report mentioned Ford and Stellantis as possible discussion partners, and its headline referenced Dodge, a Stellantis brand. It did not establish that Ford, Dodge, or another Stellantis brand would rebadge, manufacture, or sell a Rogue-based vehicle. No partner model, market, launch timing, or division of responsibilities has been announced in the sources cited here.
Nissan’s other announced collaboration should not be confused with the Rogue reports: Nissan and Honda have a confirmed agreement involving vehicle computer parts and software planned for vehicles entering the market in fiscal 2029, as reported by the Associated Press via The Washington Post. What would confirm a partnership?
A report of private discussions, a general statement that Nissan is exploring partners, and an announced agreement are different levels of evidence. Confirmation would require an on-the-record announcement from the companies describing the partnership. Stellantis’s press-release index does not list a Nissan partnership announcement among its listed 2026 items; that limited check does not establish whether private discussions continued.
Nissan has also cited the scale of its technology and vehicle lines in official materials: it said nearly 2 million e-POWER-equipped vehicles had been sold globally across 68 markets since 2016, and nearly 10 million Rogue/X-Trail units had been sold globally since the model family’s 2000 introduction. Those company figures provide context for Nissan’s products, but do not indicate that a partnership has been agreed. Nissan’s April 2026 preview gives the historical sales figures.
