Nireeka introduced the Sierra and Nyx in 2020 as full-suspension, carbon-framed off-road e-bikes. In the launch lineup, the Sierra was the lower-spec flagship and the Nyx the more highly equipped model. Those launch prices, components and range estimates are historical—not current buying terms. Nireeka still lists the Nyx, but its present-day product and technical pages differ on some specifications.
What Nireeka announced in 2020
New Atlas reported the Sierra and Nyx launch on November 11, 2020, describing both as lightweight, full-suspension e-bikes for serious trail riding. The bikes used Nireeka’s custom carbon frames and a Bafang M600 motor platform with torque and cadence sensing. The launch article said the motor could be configured to meet different regional power and speed limits; it did not establish one universal configuration. New Atlas’s launch report is a record of the company’s launch-era specifications, not an independent test.
Nireeka co-founder Max Shojaie described the Nyx as the company’s flagship and “the best bike we can make” in the 2020 article. That was the company’s positioning, not an outside assessment of performance.
Sierra vs. Nyx: launch-era figures
The following figures are those reported for the launch models by New Atlas in 2020. Prices were launch prices, weights were article-reported figures rather than independent measurements, and ranges were stated estimates—not results of a published ride test.

The launch article also described shared RockShox suspension, Shimano XT hydraulic brake calipers, carbon handlebars and Schwalbe Eddy Current tires. It reported differences between the bikes in battery, drivetrain, wheels, dropper post and pedals, but those details should be read as launch-build information—not as a specification for a later model year.
New Atlas said preorders were available with shipping expected in March 2021. That schedule has passed and says nothing about present-day availability or delivery.

Current Nyx listing: manufacturer claims, not an independent test
As checked on October 8, 2026, Nireeka’s Nyx product page lists a carbon-fiber trail e-bike at US$3,447 and gives a 48 V, 17.5 Ah (840 Wh) battery, 500 W nominal/850 W peak motor, maximum speed of 28 mph, stated electric range of 75 miles and weight of 55.55 lb (25.2 kg). These are manufacturer-listed details, not verified measurements or a guarantee of what every configured bike delivers. The page offers component and accessory options, so confirm the selected build before relying on a specification or price.
The current listing’s 75-mile stated range is not the same figure as the approximately 80-mile estimate reported for the 2020 Nyx. Neither figure is established here as independently achieved in a controlled or real-world test. Range depends on configuration and riding conditions; the available sources do not provide a test protocol that would support a direct performance comparison.

Why current Nyx specifications need checking
Nireeka’s Nyx technical page lists a carbon-fiber frame, 48 V 17.5 Ah/840 Wh battery, Bafang display and motor identifiers, SRAM X5 9-speed shifter, Shimano Deore cassette and hydraulic brakes, 29-by-2.8-inch tires, and 160 mm front/140 mm rear suspension travel. The product page has a separate description stating 140 mm front and rear, while its technical details give 160 mm front and 140 mm rear. That is a meaningful discrepancy, not a detail to silently reconcile.
These current pages also do not match every component or travel figure in the 2020 launch account. For a purchase, service decision or comparison, ask Nireeka to confirm the model year and exact build in writing; do not assume that a launch-era part list or a general product-page description applies to the bike being offered.

Is the Sierra still available?
Nireeka’s current homepage includes Nyx in its lineup, and its current product page lists the Nyx. The sources available for this article did not surface a current Sierra product listing. The Sierra can therefore be described confidently as a 2020 launch model, but its present-day availability is not established here.

What to verify before buying or comparing one
- Model year and exact configuration: request the build sheet, especially for suspension travel, fork and shock, drivetrain, brakes, wheels and motor configuration.
- Price and availability: check the live listing and selected options; the launch prices and preorder schedule are historical.
- Range: treat advertised mileage as a manufacturer estimate unless a comparable independent test specifies conditions and method.
- Weight: confirm the weight for the configured bike; the 2020 article figures and current product-page figure are not interchangeable measurements.
- Setup kit: Nireeka says a shock pump is included only when the bike has air suspension. Check the selected suspension and included kit before buying a pump or starting setup.
