No se ha divulgado una causa de muerte confirmada. UPI informó el 3 de marzo de 2026 que la familia no la había anunciado, y el obituario de Raymer-Kepner confirmó el fallecimiento sin especificar la causa. No hay base en esas fuentes para atribuirlo a una enfermedad, accidente u otra circunstancia.
¿Quién era Chase Pistone?
Nacido en Charlotte, Carolina del Norte, el 20 de agosto de 1983, Pistone residía en Mooresville. Su familia lo recordó como piloto, crew chief, propietario de equipo y mentor, además de padre de Carter y Cameron. También destacó CPinc y el vínculo de su negocio con la comunidad del automovilismo.

Según el obituario de Raymer-Kepner, Pistone ganó cuatro campeonatos Legends del Summer Shootout entre 1999 y 2005 y sumó más de 80 victorias en eventos principales de Legends, Late Model y USAR. Esas cifras describen una carrera amplia en categorías de desarrollo y carreras locales.

Participaciones nacionales de NASCAR y ARCA
El obituario también indica que compitió en ARCA Menards, NASCAR Craftsman Truck y NASCAR Xfinity. Racing America registró 10 participaciones en series nacionales de NASCAR entre 2005 y 2014: seis en Truck y cuatro en la serie de segundo nivel, hoy conocida como O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.
Sus mejores resultados registrados fueron el noveno puesto en Truck en Gateway en 2014 y el 14.º en la serie de segundo nivel en Iowa ese mismo año. Estos datos corresponden a esas divisiones; las fuentes citadas no acreditan una carrera de Pistone en NASCAR Cup.

El recuerdo de la comunidad de carreras
NASCAR Regional expresó sus condolencias en una declaración recogida por Racing America: “NASCAR extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Chase Pistone” y “He will be dearly missed.” Su hermano Nick Pistone también escribió en Facebook: “Well my young brother and best friend is gone,” y dijo que tenía el corazón roto. Son palabras de Nick, no una declaración conjunta de la familia.
El obituario indicó que la celebración de vida estaba prevista para el 10 de marzo de 2026 en Cornelius, Carolina del Norte. Esa fecha ya pasó. También enlazó un fondo para los hijos de Pistone.
