MotoGP’s provisional 2027 calendar runs from 7 March to 28 November, with 22 Grands Prix across five continents. The two venues identified as new for the schedule are Buenos Aires, which hosts Round 4, and Adelaide, which takes the penultimate round on 14 November. Adelaide’s planned street-circuit setting and the reshuffled run-in to the finale are the most notable changes—but the official announcements do not establish that they have prompted controversy.

Which venues are new, and what is notable about them?
Buenos Aires returns to the schedule as a named venue
Argentina is listed at Buenos Aires on 11 April, after the Brazil round in Goiânia. MotoGP and the FIM identify Buenos Aires as one of two new venues for the 2027 calendar. That wording describes its place in this announced schedule; it does not mean the city has never hosted motorcycle racing or establish that Argentina is a new race market.

Adelaide brings the championship to a city street circuit
Australia moves to Adelaide for Round 21 on 14 November. MotoGP describes the Adelaide Street Circuit as a new street circuit in the heart of the city, making this more than a simple date adjustment: the announced venue is an urban setting rather than the Australian venue named in previous calendars. The official announcement does not give detailed circuit specifications or an independent safety assessment, so it is not enough to conclude that the layout is safe, unsafe, or operationally feasible.
The announcement also does not explain the commercial or operational reasons for selecting Adelaide. It presents the venue as a distinctive challenge, but does not document public reaction or identify critics of the change.

What changes in the run-up to the finale?
The schedule has a pause of nearly four weeks between Brno on 18 July and Silverstone on 15 August. Austria follows on 29 August. Portimão on 3 October is the final European round listed before the calendar moves to Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia, then Adelaide and Valencia.
Adelaide is Round 21 and the penultimate race; Valencia at Cheste is listed as the finale on 28 November. The sequence is clear from the schedule, but the official announcements do not explain why the dates are arranged this way or establish that the gap or travel order is controversial or burdensome.

Why did the Valencia finale date change from the earlier notice?
On 22 September 2026, the FIM announced an event window of 26–29 November for Valencia. MotoGP’s full calendar, published three days later, specifies the Grand Prix date as 28 November. The later round-by-round date is the clearest answer for the race itself; the earlier FIM notice described the broader event window, not a conflicting race date. MotoGP presents 2027 as a “new era” for the bikes, and the FIM also refers to new technical regulations. Those statements provide context for the season, but the calendar announcements do not detail the technical specifications or say that the rules caused any particular venue choice or date change.
