Morgan says the Supersport 400 produces 402 bhp and accelerates from 0–62 mph in 3.6 seconds, making it the company’s most powerful production model to date and its first production Morgan to exceed 400 bhp. It is a higher-output flagship version of the Supersport launched in 2025, built around a BMW turbocharged straight-six and Morgan’s bonded-aluminium platform.
What is the Morgan Supersport 400?
Announced on 23 April 2026, the Supersport 400 is a more powerful flagship derivative of Morgan’s Supersport. The original Supersport arrived in March 2025 as a new flagship; the 400 takes that range in a higher-performance direction while retaining Morgan’s traditional, coach-built roadster identity.
Morgan calls the 400 its most powerful production car to date. That is a manufacturer-specific claim, not proof that it is the fastest retro roadster across the wider sports-car market. Autocar describes it as an old-school roadster with a special feel, an independent impression rather than a specification.

The power and acceleration figures are Morgan’s claims; the 180 mph top speed and 1,170 kg kerb weight are reported by Autocar and evo respectively. Those sources do not establish a directly comparable test against other retro roadsters, so the figures are best read as an outline of the 400’s performance rather than a market-wide ranking.

What powers it, and how is it built?
BMW turbocharged inline-six
Morgan specifies a BMW B58 ‘O1’ turbocharged inline-six paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The company’s 402 bhp output and 3.6-second 0–62 mph claim describe the result of that powertrain in the Supersport 400.
Bonded-aluminium platform and coach-built body
The car uses Morgan’s CXV-Generation bonded-aluminium platform. Each example is coach-built at the company’s Pickersleigh Road facility and commissioned as an individual expression of its owner, according to Morgan. The contemporary platform and BMW powertrain sit alongside the hand-built construction and traditional roadster character; they do not make this a mass-produced model.

How does it differ from the regular Supersport?
The Supersport 400 is a performance-focused evolution of the Supersport launched in 2025, not a separate model line. Its defining distinction is the higher-output specification: Morgan identifies 402 bhp and the 3.6-second 0–62 mph claim for the 400. Both models belong to the Supersport range, whose central combination is Morgan coach-building and a bonded-aluminium platform.
Morgan CEO Matt Hole called the 400 “the purest expression of Supersport, signalling a natural progression for the range,” as quoted by Autocar in April 2026. That is the company’s characterization of the model, not an independent road-test conclusion.

How much does the Morgan Supersport 400 cost?
Morgan’s current Supersport 400 model page invites prospective buyers to request information and describes the cars as handcrafted to order. It does not establish a current 400 price in the material available here.
Morgan’s UK price list effective from March 2025 covers the original Supersport, not the 400, so it should not be used as the 400’s price. Confirm the current price, taxes, options, order timing and dealer availability with Morgan or an authorized retailer in your market. Morgan Japan announced sales beginning on 28 August 2026; that date applies to Japan and does not establish availability elsewhere.
