The car described as the “Morgan AR Plus 4” is Morgan’s current Plus Four. The name matters: the historic Plus 4 was replaced in 2020 by the all-new Plus Four, which pairs Morgan’s traditional silhouette and coachbuilt character with a BMW turbocharged engine and modern transmissions. The specifications below are Morgan’s published figures, not independent road-test results.
What is the difference between a Morgan Plus 4 and Plus Four?
Morgan launched the Plus 4 in 1950. The final Plus 4 generation, sold from 2014 to 2020, used a 2.0-litre Ford GDI engine; it is not the same car as the current model. Morgan says the all-new Plus Four superseded it in 2020. The current model page calls the car “Plus Four,” so that is the name used here. The current car keeps a recognizably classic Morgan form while using contemporary mechanical and technological components. Morgan describes its BMW 2.0-litre engine as providing “ample power for a car weighing just over 1,000kg.” That is the manufacturer’s description, rather than an independent assessment.

Fuel economy and emissions figures should be understood in the applicable test and market context; they do not establish what an individual driver will achieve. Prices vary with market and configuration, and options can change the total.
Is the Morgan Plus Four available with a manual?
Yes. Morgan lists a six-speed manual alongside an eight-speed automatic. The manual has a lower published UK starting price, while the automatic is listed with more torque, a quicker 0–62 mph time and higher combined fuel economy. Those figures describe different configurations; they do not make one gearbox the right choice for every buyer.

What changed on the 2024 Morgan Plus Four?
Morgan’s 10 April 2024 announcement described detail and technology updates while retaining the car’s established silhouette. The listed exterior changes included revised lighting, wings, a front splitter, rear diffuser and floating number-plate plinths, alongside dynamic and technology enhancements. The announcement said the updated car was available to configure and order through dealerships at that time. Morgan’s 2024 update announcement.
The same April 2024 announcement said US homologation was still being pursued and gave no timetable. That is a dated statement, not confirmation of present-day US availability. Buyers outside the UK should check with Morgan or a local authorized dealer for current market status and specifications.

What accessories are listed for the Plus Four?
Morgan’s 2026 UK price list names model-related storage and protection items, including a sidescreen storage bag matched to hood colour, a hood cover, spare-wheel cover, spare-wheel disc for certain five-wheel configurations, battery conditioner, indoor and outdoor car covers, and luggage-rack pre-equipment. Morgan says the pre-equipment is required for luggage-rack fitment, and some items have configuration restrictions. 2026 UK price list and options.
Examples of prices in that list are £186.57 for the sidescreen storage bag, £409.42 for either the indoor or outdoor car cover, and £108.83 for the battery conditioner. These are dated list prices, not a dealer quote or a guarantee of current pricing. Verify fitment and the latest price against the vehicle’s exact configuration before ordering.

Is there a Morgan Plus Four model car?
Yes. Morgan’s official shop has listed a Matchbox x Morgan Plus Four collectible, and a retailer listing identifies the 2025 Matchbox car as a 1:64 die-cast model.
