The Mooncool TK1 is a folding electric trike designed around cargo utility, with manufacturer-listed baskets and racks, front suspension and a substantial stated payload. But it is no longer orderable on Mooncool’s US product page: Mooncool says the TK2 has replaced it. The TK1’s specifications also vary by region, so there is no single universal battery-and-motor configuration to rely on.
What the Mooncool TK1 is—and its current status
The TK1 is a three-wheeled electric trike with a folding frame and cargo-oriented equipment. Mooncool’s regional product pages list baskets and a rear rack, as well as front suspension and a rear differential. Those are manufacturer-listed features, not independent evidence of how the trike performs when loaded or on the road.
Availability has changed: Mooncool’s US TK1 page says the model has been replaced by the TK2 and is no longer available to order through that page. That does not establish whether remaining stock is available from other sellers or in other countries; check current local inventory before treating a listing as an active offer.
TK1 specifications depend on the market
Mooncool publishes different electrical configurations and advertised range figures on its regional listings. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently verified measurements. Do not combine them into a single global spec sheet.

The load figure is a manufacturer-stated rating, not an independently verified payload test. The UK and EU listings use different units for the same stated capacity range; use the figure and units shown for the version sold in your market.
What the TK1’s cargo and folding features mean
Gear-carrying equipment
Mooncool’s Canada and UK listings describe front and rear baskets and a rear rack. This setup is aimed at carrying items rather than simply adding passenger seating, but the pages do not establish how much usable space each basket provides or how the trike handles with a particular load.

Folding frame
The folding frame is a defining feature, but the cited listings do not provide folded dimensions or a folded weight. If you need to fit the trike into a vehicle, doorway or storage area, confirm those measurements for the exact regional model before buying; “folding” alone does not tell you whether it will fit.
Suspension and differential
Mooncool lists front suspension and a rear differential. These are equipment claims, not a guarantee of ride comfort, traction or cornering behavior under every load and surface. The product pages do not supply independent measurements of those outcomes.

How the TK1 differs from its successor, the TK2
Mooncool identifies the TK2 as the TK1’s direct successor, not another name for the same model. Its US product page says the TK2 keeps the folding frame and 450 lb payload and adds hydraulic disc brakes, a rear differential, reverse gear and a 48V 15Ah (720 Wh) battery. These are manufacturer comparison claims; check the listing for your country for the exact configuration and included equipment.
Mooncool’s Canada and UK TK1 pages themselves list hydraulic disc brakes and a rear differential, while the US successor comparison describes those as TK2 additions. That difference is another reason not to assume that a feature list or comparison applies identically to every regional TK1 version.

For a current purchase decision, compare local orderability first, then verify the market-specific battery and motor, braking system, differential and reverse functions, stated payload, folded dimensions, price and included cargo equipment. The TK1 is useful to consider as a distinct model when evaluating used or remaining stock, but a successor comparison should not be mistaken for a review of the TK2.
What independent review evidence is available
Electric Bike Report published a video titled “Mooncool TK1 Folding Electric Trike Review | Cool & Colorful” on 2025-05-16. Its description says the reviewer tested braking, speed, range, hills and ride quality, and mentions cargo racks and baskets, integrated lights and turn signals, and a 696 Wh battery. Those details establish what the publisher says the video covered; they do not, on their own, establish the test results or show that every regional TK1 has that battery configuration.
