Its appeal is the pairing of a compact living module with a truck chassis designed for demanding terrain. Mercedes-Benz advertises a 1.2 m fording capability, but that figure is a manufacturer claim—not an independently documented test or a guarantee for every crossing.
What is the Mog Home?
“Mog Home” refers to Ziegler Adventure’s motorhome body built for the Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 4023. Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK describes it as series-produced with substantial manual work. It is a purpose-built expedition vehicle, not simply a conventional motorhome fitted with off-road tires.
The chassis supplies the truck-based terrain capability; the body provides a compact living space for long-distance travel. The available specifications describe a vehicle intended for expedition and extended touring, but do not establish that it is suitable for every route, road restriction, or storage space.
How large is it, and what is the chassis specification?
Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK gives the Mog Home a 3,850 mm wheelbase and 6.76 m overall length. The Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks exhibit sheet documents a U 4023 configuration with a 9.8 t permissible gross vehicle weight and a living module measuring 4,250 × 2,324 × 2,260 mm.

The exhibit sheet records the specifications of its documented vehicle; it should not be read as a guarantee that every Mog Home order has identical equipment or configuration. The Mercedes-Benz UK page and exhibit sheet are available at Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK’s Mog Home page and the Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks exhibit specification.
What does “all-terrain” mean here?
Mercedes-Benz says the Mog Home can ford water up to 1.20 m deep without water entering the living area. The Special Trucks exhibit sheet also lists a 120 cm fording depth. Neither source provides test conditions such as water speed, current, bed composition, crossing duration, payload, or a test method. Treat the depth as an attributed manufacturer specification, not a safe-crossing instruction or a promise that every vehicle configuration can cross any water at that depth.
New Atlas’ February 2019 description of the base U 4023 also cites selectable all-wheel drive, low range, differential locks, portal axles, 50 cm ground clearance, and an optional tire-pressure management system. Those are details reported for the base vehicle and configuration at that time, not independent test results for the completed Mog Home. Mercedes-Benz’s own product information is at Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK; the historical vehicle description is in New Atlas’ 2019 Moghome report.
What is inside the living module?
The manufacturer describes a drop-down bed and separate WC, shower, and washing areas. It also lists solar equipment and a comfort package with leather seats and armrests as options. The exhibit sheet describes thick insulated sandwich panels and lists a lithium-ion battery and solar system, but it is an exhibit specification rather than a universal equipment list.

New Atlas’ C.C. Weiss reported on the specific Mog Home displayed at CMT 2019. That vehicle had a dinette with a drop-down bed above it, a kitchen with a Miele induction cooktop and microwave/oven combination, a 130 L refrigerator, separate toilet and shower rooms, and a 230 L fresh-water tank. The report also lists a Webasto combination heater and water boiler, a Biolit 97 water filter, a 320 Ah lithium-ion battery, and an optional 240 W solar charging system. These are details of that reported 2019 vehicle, not confirmation of standard equipment on current builds.
The distinction matters when comparing autonomy: water capacity, battery size, heating, and solar charging can affect how long a vehicle can operate away from services, but the sources do not establish a standard current Mog Home configuration or a measured off-grid duration.

New Atlas reported an “expo price” of €369,000 for a fully equipped vehicle displayed at CMT 2019. That is a historical show price, not a current quote. The available sources do not establish today’s price, inventory, delivery lead time, or current options. Buyers should confirm the build specification and commercial terms directly with Ziegler Adventure.
Who is the Mog Home for?
The Mog Home is aimed at travelers who prioritize a compact, self-contained living space on a serious truck platform and expect to travel beyond the limits of ordinary touring routes. Its length of 6.76 m is substantial for storage and access planning, while the manufacturer’s wading claim comes with no published crossing conditions in the cited material.
